I have the Shaw DCT6400. The problem is that I can no longer playback recorded shows. When I go to the recorded material I get the bar across the bottom that tells me the length, but, the screen is black. It will not play anything back. I know some of them recorded because I played some back part way previously. I have no idea what I have done or what I need to do to get my recordings back.

If this is the wrong place to ask this I apologize and if I need to redirect it elsewhere I will if you let me know

I assume you have a 6412 or 6416. Have you performed a cold-reboot of the STB? Unplug, wait a few seconds, replug, wait a few minutes. See:

If you have a PVR then the model number is either 6412 or 6416, the last 2 numbers indicate the size of the HDD (12=120, 16=160).

6400 = 00

Have you performed a cold-reboot of the STB?
