After some off/on-again rumours and reports, Apple and Orange have confirmed that the iPhone will be on sale in France in November. It's also very likely that Apple and Orange have agreed to sell an unlocked version of the phone to comply with French law, although this and the price of the unlocked version are not confirmed. This is going to get more interesting yet.
The unlocked version is confirmed ... although the price isnt. They have to provide an unlocked version according to French law.

If only the Canadian politicians were as forward as the French. With our lame laws we're likely to be forced into using only Rogers.

It's not as if you'd have a lot of options anyway given the phone is GSM.
Good point :) You have 2 options ... rogers ... or fido owned by rogers.
