G'day folks!
I have 3 services through Rogers and believe that I am 'grandfathered' to earn 15% off my total bill even though I am only subscribed to Rogers Mobile, Rogers Internet and Rogers Cable TV (3 vs 4 services).
I want to switch my Rogers Internet from Rogers to TekSavvy and then add Rogers Home Phone to my services. If I do this, how will this affect my current agreement with Rogers? I would contact them about this, but I'm afraid they will try to keep me on all 4 in order to get the 15% discount.
If I sign of Rogers home phone first, and then cancel my internet - would that be better?
I just don't want to lose the 15% discount for the 3 services.

right now you should only be receiving 10% discount, 2 services = 5%, 3=10%, and 4=15%. I am pretty sure that the rogers super system can't allow 15% discount for only 3 services, unless you have received a credit for something, but that can't be continuous.

bbtfastback, if you sign up for Rogers Home Phone, it will piggyback on your Rogers Internet connection. If you drop Rogers Internet, it will then have to piggyback on your TekSavvy DSL internet service. So Rogers might have to come back and fix things if something should get messed up with the switch to TekSavvy, if you swap internet providers after getting home phone.
My 15% discount was supposed to end last November. I received a mailing indicating my 15% was going to drop down to the new discount rate for the two services I have. Almost a year later I am still receiving the 15% discount.
Since the supposed expiry of my better choice bundle discount, I have added a HD STB and a HD PVR to my account (I own them) as well as additional HD programming packages, and the free SD STB rental. My discount has not changed.

rogers does not piggy back on their internet service or anyone elses. this is incorrect. while both services do travel down the same physical cable, they are separate.
you may have trouble with billing......i am in the same boat....my 2 year contract is up at the end of the month but i have yet to get a notice.

I too receive this 15% discount with only 3 services because that was the agreement that I signed up with.
I was told that terminating ANY of those three original services would constitute a change in the terms of my deal with Rogers and therefore I would then be subject to the new discounts.. (which are less obviously)

Rogers original Better Choice Bundles offered 15%. Later, they changed it to 5, 10 & 15% with 2, 3 and 4 services. Many grandfathered BCB customers continue to enjoy the full 15% with less than 4 services. If you are grandfathered, and spread over 3 services, for example, you could easily be saving $30/mth. I would weigh the loss of the grandfathered discount against the existing scheme and how that would apply to you by switching to Teksavvy. You might find its simply cheaper to stay put. You ought to be getting something like 7 mbps now with Rogers; Teksavvy everyday speed will partly depend on how close you are to the Bell CO.

Some people still get 15% off with just 2 services.

I just got a notice that the 15% discount for my three services is over and will drop to 10%. I argued and got 20% discount on TV and Internet for a year plus a $40 credit. But after that it goes to 10% for everything, unless I get home phone. Really sucks.
