I kind of like the look. Not sure about he black bezel on the inner part of the screen but I guess it done for contrast to the screen.

The new iMacs look nice. The question is how much of a problem that glare and reflection will be on the screens now that they have a glass front, rather than a naked LCD. I'm not sure about the keyboard design as far as typing goes, will have to try one to see what it's like. It's nice that they've gone back to the USB ports on the side of the keyboard though. Those USB ports are also full power, not low power like the current ones.

Downloaded the trial of iWork 08 and am impressed. Numbers is revolutionary when it comes to spreadsheets.. Pages is evolutionary for the better. Haven't tried Keynote yet.

Have been searching - did no one at the event ask Jobs about the release date for Leopard? Or did he stare down all such questions? Maybe folks who get invited to Apple events know not to ask for more than Jobs is prepared to reveal.

I have been anticipating this conference since its announcement and have been waiting for updates iMacs for awhile.

The new, revolutionary design? Meh. I don't mind the aluminum and black look or the glossy glass cover, but they hyped this "redesign" so much that the actual product is a let-down visually.

The components are fine (although I have to look into that video card), but the upgrade price for RAM is still crazy.

The new wireless keyboard is a bust in my mind. No number pad? Do they expect their users to be IMing each other and that's it?

I expected this to be the product that pushed me into a Mac for home to go with the one I use at work.

Now I expect to wait until at least Leopard is included.

The Canadian prices are only $100 over the US.

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought the 2.8GHz, 24 inch iMac with a 750 GB HD (and a free iPod). A friend saw one in the U.S. and calmed my fears about the screen.

Personally, I like the redesign. Yes, there was too much hype but what else can Apple really do? This reminds me of the 2007 redesign of the Infiniti G35. I owned a 2003 G35 and loved that design. Wanting a new car, I agreed on a price for the 2007 G35 last july without seeing one. The pictures didn't flatter the new G. Many people knocked the 2007 but it's a much better car than the previous version. I think the new iMac will have this affect also.

Using a G4 450MHz Cube at home is not fun. ;) I needed a new Mac and have been waiting for this revision long enough. We have 2 MacBooks here but I wanted a larger screen for movies etc.

I'm just happy the Macbooks haven't been upgraded yet; I bought the black 2.16ghz back in May when the new Macbook upgraded lineup was launched :p

I can see myself though in late 2007 buying Mac OS X Leopard, iLife '08 and iWork '08; they all look epically sweet :D

Got iWork and iLife installed and very pleased (using both on a 2.0 Ghz macBook with 1G RAM) . The new web gallery with iPhoto and .Mac blows away any other photo sharing client. There are some nice improvements in Pages making it more user friendly and Numbers appears more than enough to satisfy all my number crunching needs. I've read a few gripes that it's not up to Excel but there's no comparison in cost and Numbers is far ahead of Excel in making it easy to put numerical data in a visual presentation whether on paper or in a Keynote presentation.

I am also looking forward to upgrading to Leopard and happy to have spread the cost over a few months.

I was at the Yorkdale Apple Store yesterday while my nephew was buying a laptop, and had a chance to get a good look at the new iMacs. Despite all of the bright lights in the store, there wasn't that much reflection on the screen, so I don't think it's the issue I was anticipating. The sound from the built in speakers was very nice, so external speakers wouldn't likely be needed. They keyboard felt ok to, not too different from the old keyboards, even though they look quite different. I think I will spring for one when I have the cash.

So I got iLife '08 and iWork '08 on my macbook (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz, 2gb ram, 160gb HD) and it is soooooo effing awesome!!!

Pages, Keynote and Numbers will replace Microsoft Office for me I think

iPhoto is epic

The new iMovie is pretty meh; I don't use it much but it seems way too overhauled
