No Superman in HD on TMN but a lot of low budget Canadian made features........some are really not that bad.

Just thaught i'd point out that Both The Godfather Pt.3 and Scarface are playing in HD this month on Mpix HD. Godfather HD is airing tonight at midnight, and scarface HD is going to be playing on Monday July 30th at 9pm.

I am disappointed to see that "The Prestige" will premiere but no HD and to add to it, not even in widescreen format , it seems.

I was looking forward to see this movie on HD.

Movie Central finally posted their August schedule... Of the list of 13 movies Hugh highlighted in the first post, Movie Central is showing barely half of those in HD (and then, only if you include September 1st). Here's how it breaks down (number in parenthesis is the TomatoMeter number from Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/)):

As per usual, Movie Central doesn't come close to matching TMN in catalogue depth. Even worse, Movie Central continues their aversion to quality movies. Here's that list again, sorted from best to worst by TomatoMeter:

Not surprising if one considers that MC is now run and programmed out of the East (not a slam against the East, just saying they don't have to actually watch the content on the channel they're running). MC doesn't seem to even bother trying--another thread indicated that MC *never* gets the HD version of a Disney movie. Combine that lack of effort with their apparent allergy to quality programming, and the result is a pathetic schedule. Simply pathetic.

Where's TMN West? Anybody?

I agree... Movie Central HD is a sham. Someday when competition arrives we can ditch them.

update: The film Farce of the Penguins, originally confirmed as available in high definition, is only available in standard definition

The movie will be replaced with November on Aug 18th and 22nd. After that it will be replaced by Grizzly Rage.
