That is the problem with people that love dogs, they think everyone else has a divine right to love them too

My wife and I were once held hostage by a rottie-mix while walking in the Annacis Island area of New Westminster, BC. The dog was sleeping behind a van that was parked on the street and as soon as we were within 15-20 feet it stood up and crouched, growling and showing it's teeth. We stood frozen until a neighbor across the street came out with a baseball bat and threatened the dog until it went skulking back into its owners yard. He said it happens all the time.

We reported the incident to Animal Control, never heard back, never went down that street again. As dog lovers, we know that it is usually owner neglect that causes dogs to become vicious or dangerous. And for some reason, low-class scumbags/criminal types seem to gravitate towards these kinds of animals.

Everyone does have a right to love them ;) Anyway, you don't have to love them, but if you don't love them, don't get a dog.

Well, they do make good watch dogs :D

A family dog is being lauded as a hero by his owner and residents of Leslieville after taking a bite out of crime and helping Toronto cops nab a man wanted for an alleged abduction. (http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2007/07/16/4343342-sun.html)

That's why I love laws, they protect us from religious freaks and rottweiler lovers. If killing a dog were in anyway similar to killing a human, it would be deemed homicide. Every other opinion on the subject is an exercise in irrational personal emotion, similar to whether or not an adulteress deserves be stoned to death.

right, and there ought to be a law saying not anyone can own a dog, kind of what people go through to adopt a kid.

That is why I ain't got one, but when you live next door to nutters that can't be arsed to look after their dog or put them on a leash and let them poo all over your lawn, then you wish the owners will be made to do community service

We definitely think along the same lines..... The dog lovers expecting you to love dogs as well made me laugh out loud... that is so true...
