I did a search and it did not turn up anything. I just want to confirm if the Panasonic plasmas are capable of 3:2 pull-down detection. Sites like Bestbuy and Futureshop mention that they have that feature but at the Panasonic website they have no mention of it.
Can someone please confirm this?
Thanks,

The 2006 Panasonic plasma line had good 3:2 pulldown detection and processing at 480i, but not at 1080i according to tests published online (see http://www.hometheatermag.com/hookmeup/1106hook/). Very few of the 2006 HDTVs passed the 1080i test. I don't know if this has been retested on the 2007 model line yet.

Actually I had read the same article too. I can't remember where I read it but I did manage to find what you did ... 480i only, I think it was in the manual.

It's hard to say whether 3:2 pull-down detection would be noticeable at 720P or 1080I. I guess it's just left up to the person watching the tv to decide.

It's only an issue with interlaced transmission, so 3:2 pulldown processing problems shouldn't appear at 720p unless there has been an interlaced step somewhere in the transmission chain that didn't have proper 3:2 pulldown processing - which wouldn't be an issue for the TV.
The effect would appear as motion blur, and it would be difficult to separate it from the other causes of motion blur in normal viewing - e.g., the extra compression done by digital satellite and cable services, camera blur etc.

Just some info ... I read at HDguru.com, they plan to release shortly the results of their HQV testing on the 2007 1080P models.
