: Picture pixelated on MMORE HD

When watching MMORE HD on Rogers with my SA8300HD, the picture will look like it's pixelated for a split second every 10-20 seconds or so.

Does anyone have this problem?

I get this too. Still haven't figured out how to fix it. Hopefully someone around here has an idea.

cheers,

I recorded a movie the other day - Fire Serpents - bad movie.

It did have a lot of pixellation, but I only saw it on that movie and didn't care because the movie was so bad. I've recorded and watched lots of other movies without issue, but will watch carefully and perhaps see if that Fire Serpents movie is on again...

It could have been an issue with the encoding by Astral.

Between the two HD TMN channels on Rogers, TMN HD and MMORE HD, I only have the pixelated issue with MMORE HD, not with the TMN HD movies. And it's not just with recorded programs, but also with live programs.

Fire Serpents is on again on Saturday - TMN - I'll see if the issue on that movie was with the encoding...

I have not noticed issues with MMore - I've watched quite a few movies recently recorded on that channel.

Have you checked your signal strength and S/N ratio on that channel specifically, compared to others?

I just cancelled MMore after having the movie package for about a year. I didn't even recieve MMore atleast 80% of the time. I never called to see what the problem was.

I too have noticed that MMore has been inconsistent. It has come to the point that I only record from the main HDTMN channel. My last few recordings on MMore has had terrible pixelation.

I have checked my S/N ratios on both channels and they seem quite good (35 and above). However, the QAM on the HDTMN is at +6 and -12 for MMore. Don't know why there is such a big difference. Could this be the problem?

57, perhaps you could explain why there is such a difference in QAM readings on all of my HD channels. They seem to range from -16 to +12. Thanks,

tkdboy69, perhaps you have a splitter or other device upstream of the STB that is not rated 5-1000 MHz, thereby limiting the higher QAM frequencies.

In my case I have the opposite. TMN is a higher frequency than MMore and is 5 db lower (which is typical - higher frequencies usually have lower signal strength)
