I am new to this forum and new to FTA Satellite. I apologize if this has been covered, I tried searching but I did not see any matches. I want to get a FTA system to watch particular US broadcats. For instance they are broadcasting a performance on Galaxy 3C, I have all the satellite info, however from what I read I am not sure if it will be viewable on FTA Satellite. The performance is NOT being broadcasted by a television studio, it is broadcast by the production company. Is there someway to know if a stream is viewable before I purchase a system? Thanks!

Well is it c/ku? is it dvb or DC? if the feed is encrypted then you will not get it, if it is free then you must find out what digital form it will be in, or is it analog?

Hmmm... To tell you the truth I am not sure. This is the info provided for a past event.

Galaxy 3C/Transponder C22
Downlink freq: 4140 Vertical
Audio 6.2 and 6.8

Added: According to this http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy3c.html it is C and broadcast in NTSC, correct?

It's C-band so you'll need a big dish (10 feet across at least) and appropriate hardware.

It could very well be "in the clear" but whether or not it's encrypted is up to the provider. Some feeds are some aren't.

Well crap, I can't put up a 10 foot dish. I was thinking a 36" would work. Oh well, thanks for your help!!
