: Jericho - Officially re-cancelled.

I just finished reading this story in TV Week Magazine ...
Fans took up the "NUTS" reply in the seasonal finale to deluge the network's LA and NY headquarters with deliveries of nuts ... more than 20 tonnes!!! The network got the message ... they are resurrecting the show for a 7 episode run next season!!!
The series pilot will air at 9pm PDT this Friday on CBS, followed next week by a special episode recapping the first 11 episodes.
Entertainment President Nina Tassler is counting on fans "rallying around the show to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume ... displayed in recent weeks"
It is nice to see that SOMETIMES the networks really do listen to their viewers!!!

I just visited the Jerich we site and it said it is returning Friday July 6 @ 9:00PM ET/PT.
We haven't seen any episodes but the fan reaction has made me curious. We are going to give it a try.

7 episodes coming back mid season, reruns on Friday nights, great. The show is destined to die if they run the new episodes the same time as the reruns.
They damn well better give it closure at least.

Awesome, can't wait for Jericho to return!

I watched the pilot last week and, amidst the buzz, thought I'd stick with the show. Also watched the recap last night but, when expecting episode two, "Fallout," to appear, episode thirteen, "Blacjack," was on instead?! And next week's episode is number fourteen, "Heart of Winter."
I feel this makes it too difficult to try to get into this show.
Another strange things is that, if they wanted the recap to jump us ahead somewhat, than why not run episodes twelve and thirteen? Why jump to episode fourteen?

Probably went to episode 14 because thats where they starting airing the show after the Feb. break it had. They may be assuming some of the people that wanted it back saw episodes 1-12, but missed 14 on because they didn't know it was back on. Episode 13 would have been the recap show.

I just watched 880minutes (Xvid) version of Season I of Jericho, and I can say I am hooked....
Santa's Village today was pretty hard after staying up to 530am watching Jericho.....
Just finished all the episodes tonight.... can't wait til the fall!

Unfortunately, it's going to be a mid-season replacement with only 7 episodes. I hope more people like you get hooked. It was one of my favorite new shows from last season.

they only ordered seven episodes but that they can order more then that last year the show was also only picked up for seven episodes before it got a full season order

It really has to perform a lot better than it has......just over 3 million viewers in its summer rerun. Eventhough I enjoy the program seeing seven new episodes may be a stretch.

Personally I gave up on the show after the first 6 episodes or so. The plot itself seemed great, but the episodes all seemed to be wrapped up with very predictable little melodramas (some people trapped in a mine, some people held hostage, .... etc.). I felt that I was watching 70's Television trying to be Lost - and the writing and characterization just didn't seem to be there. Did it improve any? Or does that not bother some people.

Personally I gave up on the show after the first 6 episodes or so.
Nfitz --> The first 10 episodes were slow but then things picked up considerably and got WAY more interesting... probably why CBS decided to simply air the pilot then the recap show and then episode 13 and on... makes a lot of sense to me... You might want to give the show a 2nd look... Other then Heroes, this was the 2nd best new show introduced last year. I'm glad CBS got off the crack and are reviving this one. The networks need to stop using archaic ratings systems and look at a show for it's production values, and marketing apeal. This show translates PERFECTLY to DVD season box set (it's the kind of show where you can't miss a single episode and can watch the whole season in like 3-4 days... just like 24, lost, etc...). This show would also be easily sold into syndication if it's allowed to have a decent run
(100 or more episodes... which at this poing seems doubtful... which is a shame).

Does anyone know what happened to Jericho? I waited all summer to see these new episodes, but apparently I didn't do a good enough job.

Maybe in the next few weeks to replace a cancelled show or if not then it would be after Christmas. Supposed to be 7 episodes for season 2 and they have already been produced.
CBS is showing a return date of Feb 12th @ 10pm.

CBS is showing a return date of Feb 12th @ 10pm.
Jericho got picked up by the Sci-Fi Network in the U.S. :D
This is VERY good and gives the show another "escape" clause if ever CBS decided to cancel it again... Sci-Fi might decide to continue the show on their own. The future is looking brighter for Jericho

New season premiere's tonight on CBS at 10pm EST/PST.

Excellent Smithers. :D
Awesome show, unfortunately Jericho has been picked up by Space so when CTV is through simsubbing all the HD episodes from CBS rather than continue with the SciFi episodes which will also be in HD we'll get the blurry version with black bars on Space instead just like Eureka. Idiots, CTV could take top ratings on Jericho night without simsubbing if they keep the show after CBS' 7 episodes run out.
There's always hope.

What SciFi episodes? I'm not understanding what you are talking about. Episodes are being produced for other than CBS?

Great episode this past week! Really enjoying the new season!
