The final score for vehicle sales in 2006 according to Automotive News was Toyota 8,808,000 over GM's 8,679,860 after the publication ruled that 420K vans previously credited to GM should have been credited to the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp.

In the U.S., Toyota passed Chrysler last year to move into #3 spot and is expected to pass Ford this year.

It's easier to be the hunter than the hunted.

How long before Toyota's QC issue start to plague them?

Broken camshafts in the new Titan pickups. Then again, Yota has been producing sludge monsters for years and folks still buy them, so....

If applicability, quality and price aren't your primary criteria for buying a vehicle then buy whatever brand you want. It seems like these criteria are becoming more and more important to most people....and thats why the Japanese cos are doing so well.

I don't understand all this b'ing and complaining.....

Maybe we should start up a North American TV co like we had in the old days to compete with all this off shore nonsense..... where an acoustic realignment was necessary from time to time to keep the set in tip top working order...

You mean either Tacoma or Tundra. Nissan makes the Titan.
Not trying to be an a-hole, just a correction.

Sad times indeed...:(Why sad? GM has been making a crap product for years - I'm amazed that there are still people out there even willing to consider touching their vehicles.

And at the same time GM is cutting production in Canada, while Toyota is expanding Canadian production.

It's not like either company is Canadian. They are all run by foreigners.
