Thanks very much to SensualPoet and 57 for the info. Now to digest it all, while I "hurry up and wait" for my move in August.

Analog is available EVERYWHERE. The CSR was full of crap, or more likely, just incompetent.

CSRs are instructed to sell digital when available. Ted wants to position Rogers as a Digital cable company.

Does the threadstarter really still use a VCR? Wow.

Just thought I'd add that when I had to switch my father in law from the free 10 month preview he got with his new HDTV to basic cable (because he didn't care for HD) I was initially told that he could not get basic cable. I asked why and they said that they didn't offer it in his area. I told them that it was not correct as he had it last year and then I was asked to be put on hold and the rep talk with the manager. She came back and said that they would allow the basic analogue cable connection.

So it looks like they're definitely trying to push the move towards digital albeit in a slightly sneeky way.

You'd be surprised how many people out there are still using VCRs. :) I have one just for those times when the kids want to watch Barney on VHS.
