Looking to buy either one of those TV's. Can't decide if I should go LCD or Plasma, and which model is better. I know that they are new and I haven't been able to find any decent reviews online. Can anybody help?

I didn't test the Sony, but I can offer this. I just finished testing a Sharp Aquos 42D62U versus Panny TH42PX75. I am in a mainfloor family room with windows, but non that would cause direct reflections. I was convinced that I wanted the Sharp for various reasons, the usual burn-in, LCD better in bright light, etc... Well the reality is that the black levels got me. I adjusted the two as equal as I could get side by side with the same signal from DVD (my DVD has two outputs). I could not get the Sharp to match the black level and still avoid washout. For the Sharp's blacks to look non-blue, there was no detail whether DVD or HD cable. Not only my wife, but my 11 year old son preferred the Panny saying that the Sharp had blue look to the blacks (obviously due to the fact that they were side by side. I think that if they weren't side by side, their opinions may have differed to be fair). The Sharp is a magnificent television and a side of me still wanted to keep it, but in the end I kept the Panasonic. A truly beautiful picture. Good luck in your decision.
