If you thought reality programming already had taken over TV, there's even more in store.

A combination of earlier success, cost pressures and the threat of strikes by Hollywood writers and actors has sparked the biggest appetite yet among networks for new "unscripted" series.

But will viewers remain hungry? (http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2007-05-07-reality-TV_N.htm?csp=34)

As long as people keep watching all these crappy shows, paying less attention to their kids, having take outs instead of cooking, planning their lives around the shows, phoning the show to vote, then YES.

It's rather unfortunate that it's coming to the point where almost half of the schedule will be reality programming. I guess I just don't understand the appeal these shows have.

Luckily I have an extensive DVD collection of my favourite TV shows and documentaries.

Whether they are crap or not is a matter of opinion. Many of them are very well done.
