Since getting the 505, audio drop outs are ridiculous. I wanted to write them down, but the list would simply be too long. If we want to watch hockey on CBC, we go to CBOT-DT!
All channels are bad, SRC can have dropouts every minute! ABC is also bad.
Last night, I noticed that picture and voice would first get out of sync then there would be an audio dropout.

I miss my 500!

I have 3 DSR505's and I don't seem to have the same issue's that you have. Perhaps it's a defective unit?

I have 3 505 receivers, one of them recently replacing my 500. They have always been as reliable as my 500 was and I don't experienc drop outs in the audio.

I recently got my 505 & don't experience as many dropouts as my 500 used to have. I used to have sync problems like crazy with the 500, but not so far with the 505. I've only had it a week though. The only problem is when i view the guide on the 505, the wife says it comes on the upstairs tv where i put the 500?
I have the same problem...a few audio dropouts every time I watch the game on CBC-HD and on other channels too. I was going to write it in the forum...but its happening too many times.:( Hope they are working on fixing this problem. I have 2 505's and it happens on both. Doesn't look good when friends and family come over and it happens.

Make sure you are using a different remote address for each receiver. hat way they won't conflict. Options, 6,4,3,2.

If one would check the boards I have been crying out about Audio Dropouts for the last few years. I never get them on my 500 but they are abundant on my 530 and the dropouts seem to be magnified when the show is recorded. Many shows have to be deleted because they are so frustrating to watch. This is the 3rd 530 and each one seems to get worse. I like to think that my complaints contributed to ARR setting up the Audio Dropout post for High Definition. It is my opinion that if he had also included dropouts for SD shows the board would be engulfed in responses. Its about time that SC did something about this vexing problem. Each time a new code is downloaded we expect the dropouts to at least diminish but they seem to get worse. i would like to thank ARR for setting up the dropout recording posting and his referal of the problem to SC. By the way, my Audio dropouts are also accompanied by slight pixillation of the video.

Well, I get audio dropouts on my 500 receiver too. Not all the time, but only on HD channels. If it happens, it will happen a few times during an hour-long program.
How long should it take for the "options" menu to show up once the button is pressed?
Options - 6 - 4 - 5 takes over 20 seconds.
Last night, did a reset of the box through the hidden menus with tech support.
Let's see what that does.
