Hello All,
I'm looking at upgrading my laptop RAM from 1gb to 2gb. I have a free slot but my question is does anyone know the difference between PC2-4200 and PC2-4300? I've found a little bit of info online, but nothing really definitive.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There is not much of a difference there, it's just performance related. What you have to worry about, is that sometimes unrelated pairs won't work, so you have to make note of the make you have in there now and try and match that.
Also note that some laptops can be particularly picky about which RAM they are compatible with. If you want to play it safe check out the websites of RAM manufacturers like Crucial, Corsair, etc. because they have a RAM finder feature that lets you put in your exact laptop model and they will tell you which module(s) are compatible with your laptop.

Alright thanks for the help guys. I know laptops are picky however I can't find any RAM of the type I already have. Mosel????
I'll try the Crucial/Corsair RAM finder.
It would be easier for you to search for RAM by the make and model of your notebook. Try Kingston's site, you will find what you need.
