Is Bute -Andrade 2 PPV in Canada? If it is, I am OUTRAGED! I have been waiting for months for this fight- It has been advertised on HBO, now I am getting info that it will be shown on HBO, but not HBO Canada. This is disgusting.

Yep, heres a quote from the Shaw Direct website

The IBF World Super Middleweight Championship is on the line for Lucian Bute (24-0-0, 19KO) in a rematch with the top ranked contender Librado Andrade (28-2-0, 21KO), November 28 on Pay Per View.

The first bout between these dynamic middleweights was a war, with Bute leading on the scorecards, but getting knocked down by Andrade in the final round. The win by Bute was controversial to some and Andrade wants another chance to claim the crown.

This title fight will be held in Quebec City and Canadian boxing fans are in for a great night of action. With unfinished business between the fighters, only one man can leave the ring with the Super Middleweight crown.

Also on the card is the IBF lightweight title fight between Dominican Joan Guzman (29-0-0, 17KO) and South African Ali Funeka (30-2-2, 25KO).

It appears that it may not air at all in English. HBO Canada is showing a repeat fight on Saturday in replace of this fight. I think TSN aired the first fight a couple weeks later, hopefully they do that this time too.

It is worth noting that TSN2 has Bernard Hopkins vs. Enrique Ornelas on Wednesday night at 8:00pm ET. It will air on Versus in the United States.

So the Canadian boxing fan gets shafted again, thanks to the CRTC protecting our cultural identity by giving us HBO light. Absolutely disgusting.

I have been looking forward to this fight for months, and it was advertised during HBO fights. Now I find out I will have to pay $60 dollars for programming that is available on HBO, but not HBO Canada.

So my monthly subscription fee for HBO Canada does not necessarily mean that I will get HBO boxing.

This combined with the proposed cash grab at the CRTC hearings is enough to drive me to grey alternatives.

Great HBO fight last night(Paul Williams vs. Sergio Martinez). One of the best of the year. Should be repeated today.

It was a great fight. Martinez was robbed IMO. THe one judge only gave Martinez the first 2 rounds, all the rest to Williams. That judge needs to be investigated and banned. The other 2 judges gave round one to Williams 10-9, even though Martinez very nearly knocked Williams out.

If you score the first round for Martinez 10-9 (plausible) or even score it a 10-10 draw, the worst Martinez can get is a draw.

Oh well, they protected their latest American hero.

I thought Martinez won by a score of 116-113.

I didn't mentally score it but I thought the fight was very close. A draw would have been the fairest result.

I've closed this thread. These 3 sports IMHO are unrelated. I have no interest in wrestling or the ultimate fight programs.
