Is there any way to use a Telus phone on MTS? Love the MTS service and plans, but i hate their phones. I was hoping to buy the LG Chocolate Flip (LG8600) from Telus and use it with MTS...Is this possible? I'm not shy of a little tinkering with software and such if i need to do it to make it work, i'm just not sure where to start.

Thanks,

Paolo

everyone says you cant use foreign phones on telus because their esn is not in telu's database. Not sure how it works for MTS, but since they're not a national carrier, im sure they may have different policies and procedures that favour the consumer that telus doesnt offer. Try them out and C. I have a feeling they will load the esn, but not program your prl for you.

preferred list, tells your phone what towers to roam which towers to use first, which towers to ignore, when in the states, or west canada, east canada, ontario etc..

I can tell you that on SaskTel's network they will let you activate most phones, but wap2 browsing will not work as the device will be flashed to work on a different network. This will be the same on all networks (for the wap2 browser) as you will not be able to authenticate.

As for the PRL issue, for the most part it is usually not an issue for a regular phone. If we were talking for say a kyocera passport card, then their would be problems.
