Am thinking of ordering the 6416 from Novus and am wondering

* How good is the interactive guide. is it accurate ?
* Are there many glitches with the digital content ? pauses/freezes etc?

Does anyone here use this service ?

I have been using Novus for the past year, switched from Shaw, and think they are great. I haven't had any major problems.
The guide is fine, it was 1 min off for a while but that has been fixed.
I think I have had less glitches with them then with Shaw.
I have been told that they are adding MC2 and WGHD on May 1st so that will bring them to 21 HD channels.
I do recommend them to over Shaw to anyone in the DT core. I also use them for my Internet and think they are the best with 10mb up and down they are the fastest plus they do not throttle.
Those are my experiences anyway.

thanks for the feedback, I use their internet already and love it. was just concerned about their hd content and the motorola receiver.

It seems like more time than not their tv guide on channel 2 is wrong so am hoping the one on the hd box is better :)

Yes....Novus' PVR guide is better than the guide on Channel 2. In addition you get 14 days of gide information comapred to the 3 or 4 days you get with Shaw.

I found I get less picture interruptions on the HD channels using the HDMI connection over the component. I also found the SD channels PQ improved using the HDMI over the component. I would rarely watch an SD show using component and since I switch over to HDMI SD is watchable.

At moment I just want to get the box as a pvr so im HD ready for when I drop too much money on a nice new shiny TV :)

I'm also a Novus HDTV subscriber and I must say their customer service is exceptional.

I use a Motorola DCT6416 as well and was told by their tech that they constantly do firmware updates whenever available.

Glad to know they are adding MC2 & WGHD soon!!!

I just noticed this week that on my 6416 the sw/fw is now the latest with the sw being 74.53-3321 and the fw being 16.35

Can all channels be recorded or are there some which are protected ?

All the channels you subscribe to can be recorded on the 6416.
