Me too. In the summer of 1963, an 11 and 1/2 year old kid finally worked up the courage to phone the local radio station's request line and ask them to play "Surfin USA", which had peaked in April. That was my first ever request to a radio station. I still love Surfin USA. I was just getting into early 60's rock. Little did I know at the time that in a few months, 4 guys from Liverpool would destroy the music I loved.

I know I'm one of the few North Americans who like Oasis, so this may not go over too well, but . . .

Live Forever, by Oasis. A song that's meant to be sung loud to the heavens.

cheers,

Not my favorite band or song by any stretch, but the song from my teens that I remember most at Bird's Hill Park in Manitoba:

Sunny Days by Lighthouse.
