In a previous thread someone had indicated that Shaw would be lauching voicemail to email service along with distinctive ring. Just wondering if voicemail to email has been launched, seeing as though distinctive ring is now available.
I dont think Shaw launched voicemail to email yet. I didnt even know they were going to. One feature that I want is changing the number of rings on voicemail so you can choose another ring besides 4. thanks

This feature may be coming soon and will be accessable through the online Shaw Billing website, along with the ability to add or remove Digital Phone services such as Call Waiting or Voicemail.

Hi Shaw now has the portal working. I tried it out. I am not personally A shaw customer anymore but I tried to with my grandmothers account. I even called Shaw to ask them a few questions about it this morning. This service allows you to get voicemail by email, to turn voicemail on or off and to change call forwarding numbers. you can even turn it on or off. I must say its a very cool service.

ya i got it too now. But since we are digital phone lite the only thing i can change is call forwarding but still it is neat that we can do it online now. Helps if you are away from home and you forgot to set up call forwarding and someone is going to call you.
You guys with the voicemail, does the send to email work? And if so how good does it work.

And can we finally change the number of rings before voice mail kicks in??? Please!!! i so miss that feature with the old phone carrier... we had a great system going. Digital machine at home would pick up after 6 rings, and we had the voicemail kick in after 7. that way, if i didn't bother answering a call waiting ring, the person could still leave a message, instead of hearing the phone ring forever, like it does now.
plus, who the heck can get to the phone after only 4 rings?!?!?! i'm too lazy to walk that fast! LOL!

yeah I agree. My voicemail is set for 5 rings. alot of times I just let calls go to voicemail as sometimes i am too lazy to answer. my phone is mts so I can change it. my grandmother is on Shaw and I always have to call her back again. so in order to call my grandma I have to call her twice within seconds so when it goes to voicemail I have to ring her phone back after.
Although it is good to be able to change the number of rings to what you want, most polite people hang up after 5 rings thinking that either:
- on one's home
- the people don't have an answering machine
- the people don't wish to pick up and 5 rings is plenty of time for anyone wanting to pick up to pick up.

yeah I usually answer on the 2nd or third ring as I am usually in my bedroom. I have around 7 phones in the house and their all connected to the same phone line so I just pick up which ever phone im closest to.
