MooBaloo 2012-03-19, 09:56 PM That awful ON DEMAND button is so much larger to the point where I accidentally pressed it at least once a day until I disabled it. It was a macro key that did 1 0 0.
If I remember correctly, I used this procedure from the manual.
Clearing a Macro Key
1. On the remote control, press and hold SETUP
until it blinks twice.
2. Enter 9 9 5. The SETUP key blinks twice.
3. Press the macro key you want to clear once.
4. Press and hold SETUP until it blinks twice.
cybercat 2012-03-26, 02:56 PM Did that with the "music" button on all four of mine - used to hit it by accident when I wanted "mute" (usually for commercials).
OnlineHarvest 2012-05-10, 11:08 PM I have an extra Rogers remote, and wanted to use it for a TV in my bedroom but without the settop box (just cable into the tv set). I successfully programmed the TV button, where it powers on and off. However, when I click a number, or channel up, the CBL button lights up, and it doesnt change the channels. Even if I select the TV button, it still highlights the CBL button for those operations.
Any way to override?
sparkmarker 2012-09-25, 09:33 PM Good evening,
I am trying to program my new Rogers PVR remote (model 1056B03) and I am not finding a code that pairs the remote with my NAD T751 home theatre/audio receiver.
I have tried the urcsupport.com site, as well as calling Rogers tech support - having no luck with either. I have also tried the "blink back" method from the site - same result.
I previously had the last generation remote (with A,B,C buttons rather than A,B,C,D) and it worked fine with the NAD.
Has anybody had success pairing the new remote with an NAD system?
Many thanks in advance,
K
Rogers site gives it as 0320 Hope this helps. Specifies "Audio"
PRESS the button for the device you want to program (TV, VCR, CABLE, AUD, etc.) then RELEASE.
PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED for the selected device flashes twice, then RELEASE.
ENTER the 4 digit code for your brand from the list above.
You should receive 2 quick flashes on the LED for the selected device after entering your code.
PRESS the POWER button to test the code. (On VCR,LD,and CD players use PLAY)
sparkmarker 2012-09-25, 10:30 PM Thank you for the quick reply.
Unfortunately that code did not work for me. I believe it may be an issue of the new remotes being incompatible with the NAD system. A drag if that's the case.
If anyone else has the new ABCD remote and has successfully paired with an NAD system, let me know.
Thanks again.

Came across a thread on remote central which might help your problem. Do a google search for nad T751 VL900. It explains problems and possible solutions to the learning method. Not sure if this will help in your case but it seems Nad has problems with the learning method and perhaps if you play around with the rogers remote the same way you can get it to work. Probably won't but hope this helps.

Unlocking Channel Control
1.On the remote control, press CBL once; it will
blink once. Press and hold SETUP until the
CBL key blinks twice.
2.Enter 9 7 3. The CBL key will blink twice.
3.Press CH- once. The CBL key will blink four
times.
Now the remote control will provide TV and VCR
channel-control capabilities while in the TV or VCR
mode.
adamwalker0314 2012-12-02, 11:27 AM I cant seem to get the power sequence or master power setup correctly on this 8642HD
I want to power on the STB, TV, Receiver when i press the power button. Right now i can power them all separately by pressing the CBL, power, TV, power, AUD, power.
I tried using the method where you press setup, 2 flashes, 995, CBL, power, TV, power, AUD, power as rogers directed me to do over the phone, no dice, we did get it to work so the TV and STB come on at the same time but the receiver just wouldn't go.
Is there a different method of programming this remote to work as I'd like it too??
No, that's the sequence, but you're probably forgetting to press CBL, then hold SETUP at the end of the sequence. If you can't get it, read the instructions to someone else, or have them read the instructions to you. I've moved your post to this remote thread, since it has nothing to do with the 8642. I assume you got the volume lock to work for the AVR? Sometimes there are issues if you power up in the way you've done, I suggest to do it AUD - TV - CBL, remembering to press CBL again at the end of the sequence...
Also, make sure you press CBL after finishing the programming.

Hi, I tried searching but none of the results addressed this.
I would like to control two rogers boxes side by side(1840, 3250) each using their own 5-button remote (one has a white on demand button, the other grey).
I believe I read the solution long ago, but now I cant find it on here or in the manual (which seems much smaller than it used to be).
Anyone know how to program the remotes/boxes to work with alternate remote signal set?
alebowgm 2012-12-18, 01:55 PM There is no alternative remote IR code. There used to be an IR extender that could be setup on a different code but Cisco doesn't sell it anymore and they are hard to find on eBay. The only solution is getting an RF remote and covering the IR sensors.
Here's the previous thread on that topic - two STBs in the same room:

sniff275 2012-12-21, 09:56 PM i am have a really tough time with my remote. recently swapped to a new 8642hd box and now i am experiencing a odd problems with rogers remote.
i have now swapped the remote 3 timess and the box 2x times.
when i change channels +. the box channels wont stop changing. It essentially keeps going up or down. I have tried programming the cbl button with code 980, 981 as the rogers help desk asked me to. But it just does not help.
everytime i change the code the whole remote stops working
I am willing to try anything and almost ready to buy an harmony remote
You may have IR interference as discussed in the following thread. It's usually easy to test by turning off the TV and trying to change channels to see if the STB responds properly. There are other items discussed in the thread as well that can stray IR. The new STB may be more sensitive to IR than the previous one you had. Nothing wrong with your remote, or STB. You may wish to get your TV(s) properly optimized.

oldyellr 2013-03-21, 04:48 PM This thread looks like it's about the remotes used STBs and PVRs. I don't have a problem with my PVR remote, but I recently got a Rogers DTA for another TV and can't get it to turn the set on and off. This is the remote:
http://www.urcsupport.com/imgsize.php?w=100&h=300&constrain=1&img=images/uploaded_images/Rogers_SrDTA_200x600.png
The Rogers instructions end up by holding the power button until a code is found and then the TV should turn off, except it won't turn off even after an hour. When I go to the remote manufacturer's website and put in the TV model number (it's a small SEIKI), I get a code, but their instructions mention a red light, which the Rogers remote doesn't have, just a little white plug.
Anyway, the only function I can't get is on/off, but even if that worked I'd still have to use 2 remotes to change aspect ratio. Anyone else have this problem?
Do you have the Delta DTA remote? It does not say Delta on the remote, but the instruction that comes with mine says Delta DTA. On the top left, there is a white set button, On the right top there is the red Power button, and between the 2, there is a little white round button that you cannot push. It lights up red when you push any button. On my instruction, after the red light flashes twice, I need to push the power button to see if I can turn the TV off, not holding it. Try just push it once and see if it will work. If it does not turn off, try another code.
oldyellr 2013-03-21, 06:21 PM Thanks e286, the white button does indeed have a red light under it, which I missed seeing. I'll go through the manufacturer's instructions again using the code and see what happens.
oldyellr 2013-03-22, 09:16 AM Okay, here's an update. I did go through the setup procedure as outlined in the Delta DTA leaflet, using the code I obtained for my TV at www.urcsupport.com with the same result. The Delta remote power button still doesn't work, but all the other functions do. It's a 22" Seiki LC-22G78 from Walmart. I'm sure these simple remotes that come with the DTA are primarily intended for older, non HD TVs. Even if I didn't have to use the original remote's power button, I'd still need it for the aspect ratio. It's no big deal.
oldyellr 2013-03-22, 12:59 PM Okay, another update. After setting up the remote using the manufacturer's method with the TV code and red light, I've lost most of the functions except changing channels. So I'm back to setting it up again using the Rogers method (http://downloads.rogershelp.com/digitalcable/guides/DTA50_EIG_ON.pdf) and have the power button clamped down for an hour to make sure it finds the code.
