I'm getting my current TV Sony KP-46WT500 repaired by RSL. So this TV will be good for another couple of years.

Lately I've been reading /researching on my next TV.. Either Plasma or LCD. I would like to get wither of the 2. Really don't want to go back to rear projection..

I watch DVD's, play XBOX 360, and watch my BEV.

I have been hearing lately that after 2 yrs or so, your Plasma looses half of it intensity? Is this true ?

The information you have been given regarding Plasma TVs and their half-life is incorrect. Plasmas will lose their intensity over time, but usually it will take much longer, that is, about 10 to 15 years of having the display on constantly before you actually notice a reduction in contrast or brightness.
