Something I've been wondering but unable to find out whether it's feasible. With a pay-as-you-go plan (Rogers in this case), can you simply pop the SIM card into a different, unlocked GSM phone and use it? Obviously this is no problem with monthly wireless plans, I'm just unsure whether this can be done with pay-as-you-go phones.

Thanks in advance for any input....

More than likely yes. I have a Pay-Go Sim in my V551, which I think was on a monthly plan, although it was on Rogers, and locked.

As part of the GSM Specification, you can switch your SIM card in any other GSM phone and it will work. Providing that if the phone is SIM Locked, its from the same carrier you are on. A phone itself is not pay as u go or monthly, its just a GSM phone. your plan ie: your account dictates weather your on paygo or monthly. Doesnt matter if you bought the phone or your uncle buck gave it to you.

Cool, thanks for the responses guys. Logic indicated that it should work...I was just looking for some confirmation.

Peace!
