: Is the time on your Cell correct?

I checked my Bell phone today, and my girlfriend checked her Telus phone, and neither of them were updated because of the daylight saving time change last night. I can't change the time on my phone, so when will the cell companies step up and get the time fixed?

Is anyone else having this issue?

Mine did this in the fall. Once I actually placed a call it updated, hopefully that will work for you.

Only way I seem to be able to get my phone to update at time changes is by turning it off and on again. My service provider is Rogers.

My Fido never updates itself. I have to manually do it every time. The option is under initial setup.

My Treo was off yesterday, but today it was okay. That also reminded me to install the updated Palm DST fix, but I don't know if it made a difference.

My Rogers phone updated fine. It is on Pay-as-yoy-go, but not currently active.

I don't think they 'push' the time to you. I have always found that I have had to phone my cell to get it to update the time. (Telus)

My Virgin is on time.

I checked my phone today and it shows the right time. My girlfriend's phone is correct as well, and neither of us received a call. Go figure!

I have the same Virgin as Hugh. Mine only accepts cash up front though (no contracts please). :p

Edit: Oh yes mine is on time too.

I wonder if it has something to do with the software on the phone? My LG 5450 Telus phone updated perfectly and I never made a call on it on Sunday.

My Blackberry 8100 (Rogers) updated without issue. I did, however download the 2007 DST patch. I didn't have to turn off/on or make a call.

some gsm phones require the phone to be power cycled, ie nokias usually, while others just require the carrier to send the signal and it will automatically grab the time.

My Moto and samsung both auto updated it automatically. Rogers phones too

Yeah, I've seen GSM phones that won't switch their time until they lock onto a new tower. Part of the handoff process maybe?

my phone time changed by itself
