FOX Sports will televise Super Bowl XXXVI in a new 16:9 digital format dubbed FOX Widescreen.
So who knows what "FOX WIDESCREEN" is?
480P.... nothing more, nothing less

Oh well, better than standard TV.
I wonder if ExpressVu will pick it up. If I were to guess, I'd say probably.

I'm betting that most people will be very impressed with the picture. It ain't HD, but it's the next best thing.

So is having an HDTV sufficient to get the "fox widescreen" or do you need an HDTV satellite receiver or set top box?

Yes, you'll still need the same kind of receiver you'd need to receive an HD broadcast. 480p is still part of the ATSC digital television standard.
half a loaf is better than no loaf.
I for one will be in front of FOX widescreen with my beer and chilli and lovin it!
I for one am looking forward to the Raiders kicking Ram butt
