I used to wear a watch everyday. Since I've had to carry around a work Blackberry for nearly two years I've stopped wearing a watch.

I wear one for show when I go out and such but not daily. More of a fashion or accessory thing.

I used to wear one always and ended up pretty much addicted to checking the time! It got pretty crazy..."it's 2 minutes since the last time I looked" :)

I stopped wearing one on a daily basis some time ago, but I can't remember when or why. Now, it's strictly jewelery worn when dressing up.

I used to ALWAYS wear a watch, but I haven't worn one for many years now. The funny thing is I love watches, and have probably 8 or 10 in my nightstand, but I just got out of the habit of wearing them for some reason.

I too always wear a watch. It is part of me. I probably check it more often for the date than the time. I see it as a fashion accessory and as such never wear a digital/timex style watch.

Jake... that was funny...... I can spend 4 hours in Home Depot even if I did wear a watch...it's like my second home...

I never wear a watch for all the above reasons....I used too but not anymore as my cell phone is always on my belt.

Yes - all the time. I hate being late, and I need to know the "correct" time.

I do not carry a cell phone/PDA/pager.

I currently own two watches:

Daily wear: http://www.casio.com/products/Timepiece/Pathfinder/PAG50_Series/product/PAG50T-7V/

Formal wear: http://www.oceanus-us.com/index.php?fuseaction=products.detail&product=OCW500TDA%2D1AV

Both of these watches are extremely reliable and feature great design and amazing technology.

I enjoy wearing a (good) watch. I too, feel "naked" without one, and instictively look at my wrist when someone asks for the time of day.

p.s. I also own a collection of over 100 vintage pocket watches.

I quit wearing one about a couple of years ago when the battery died. Just use the cell for time (and I don't use it a lot either - with the computer and the car clock etc).

Have about 3 watches with dead batteries sitting somewhere.

It would feel strange not having a watch on.

I don't have a cell phone, blackberry, PDA, etc and
I don't wear much jewelery...just my wedding ring, engineering ring
and my watch.

However, to me a good (quality and appearance) watch is essential.
I bought a duty free Breitling (http://people.timezone.com/breitling/bfaq/gallery/images/superocean_2.jpg)mechanical watch last year when I was
in St. Thomas, USVI. I love it and it never leaves my wrist.

I always wear a watch when I go out.

I have a nice analog one that I wear to the office and my trusty 18 year old Timex Ironman for ratting around.

I also want to add that I see a watch in the same category as jewlery, and I am not a jewlery person either, I wear one good quality pair of light earings and that is that....

i don't even like wearing my wedding rings only because I just dont like the weight of any type of jewlery .... I prefer all naturel

On my previous watch the face plate broke. It still kept time, but the buttons were exposed and would catch on stuff; plus I was afraid of breaking it further. I didn't wear one for a couple of months thinking my cell phone always has the time.

What I found is that I seem to check the time a lot. Apparently this bugs people as checking the time on your cell requires more than a quick glance.

I was so happy to get a new watch for Christmas. I agree; I'm naked without it.

I almost always wear one of my watches. Old habits die hard I guess.

I wore a watch all through my school, college, and work years. And I really did feel quite lost without one on my wrist. But I haven't worn a watch since I retired in '95. I do carry one at times (I put it in a pocket, and sometimes, but only very, very occasionally, actually wear one - when I haven't the appropriate pocket, I guess!!), on certain occasions - when I think I need to know the time when travelling for appointments, and the like. Otherwise, the ones I have (I still have two that work - one solar-powered, and the other regular-battery) sit on bureaus ticking away!!

Watch wearer here since I was old enough to bug my parents for a Mickey Mouse watch for Christmas all those years ago ;)

I've managed to pick up a habit of my grandfathers in that I'm always on the lookout for a nice watch with a fair "gee whiz" factor to it. My daily watch is a Tissot T-Touch that I picked up while I was visitng the grandparents in Switzerland in '03 (One advantage of going to the source, getting deals :D )

I feel utterly naked without a watch on my wrist because I'm a clock watcher unless I get engrossed in something really deeply :p

What I don't understand is when people have about a dozen watches. I have two watches, a "dressy' watch that I wear to work and functions and a "sporty" watch that I wear on the weekends.

I have 3 and plan on purchasing my forth this spring/summer.

bluntman, to answer your question, I have a chrono whose style is much more sporty, so I wear that on week-ends/casual fridays, and I have one silver watch and one brown watch. Obviously I'll wear the brown watch when I'm wearing brown/beige cloths and the silver the other occasions. The fourth watch I'm looking at is more of a fashion chrono which is dressy enough to wear to work/going out.

Not any more. It is in a box someplace, with the hourly chime still on, if the battery hasn't died yet.

I now use a $10/month pocket watch courtesy Rogers.

I haven't owned one in 12 years. Can't be bothered taking it off and putting it on all the time. Wedding band is enough jewelry for me. If I need to know the time I just check my cell if there isn't a clock staring me in the face somewhere.

I always wear my watch......except when I'm at home......I wonder if thats odd.

Anyway, I feel naked if I go out without it.
