Astral Media Inc. today announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire substantially all of the assets of radio broadcaster, Standard Radio Inc. (http://www.digitalhome.ca/content/view/1720/1/)

Standard of course is also the majority owner of Sirius Canada. This is all about estate planning since Standard is a privately run family company.

Yeah I know. I guess my comment made it sound like Sirius is part of the deal when its not.

Ummm... Interesting.

CHUM would have to divest itself of it's application for the DAB based terrestral sub radio system they have before the CRTC, or else it might be viewed as a conflict of interest.
