The key to any forum is traffic and I don't think it would generate a lot. I manage a small apartment building and I still don't buy many appliances. Ultimately I'm limited by what my local distributers feel like carrying anyway.

As far as the other topics go, how often do you really renovate? Or buy a house? I frequent a bunch of forums and usually a person can get good advice about stuff that has nothing to do with the forum. For example, my local BC 4x4 forum has a lot of Greater Vancouver members so if I need local advice on goods and services it's a good place to start.

(Personally I prefer fewer more active forums even if I have to wade through unrelated stuff.)

Great idea for forum topics. I would like to see it incorporated into digitalhome.ca. Maybe make a new section off the main digital forum page or even a new heading above Digital Forum with two sections. The new domain might link to the Analog Home section and digitalhome.ca to old the Digital Home section. Yet another domain might link to the new top level forum.

If a new domain is desired, I'm sure we could come up with a better name than analoghome.ca. Maybe a contest is in order.

Just registered.
Now you will have to put up with my annoying posts on two forums.

The forum has about six main forums covering lots of topics. We'll see how it goes. Expand the forums that are more popular so that the Home Repair, Power Tools and Appliances could longer term break out into four or five forums if traffic builds.

Now you will have to put up with my annoying posts on two forums.

I look forward to the annoyances!
