Also after looking at Bell EV website tonight I have notice that they have raised the price of the new nascar package from $99 to $159 for the whole season.

As well I am wondering if Canada will have its own version of "Hot Pass" because this was originally for Direct TV, but just recently they said that it is coming to Canada, and the Rogers Fan 590 Off-Air Schedules are advertising it on the Super Sports Pack.

Here is the website to view Direct TV video of "Hot Pass" and what this new package is all about. Just scroll down a bit to view the video.

It seems as its just a revamp of the nascar in car package.I just hope it stays the same price.

i would hope this wouldn't impact on the Super Sports Pack. I'm already paying for the the original Nascar stuff that I have no time for, I hope I won't have to pay more for better Nascar coverage that I won't be watching.

I have a feeling that Rogers might increase the price for the package due to the fact that Bell has already increased there Nascar pack from $99 to $159 for the whole season. I am going to check it all out and see what the changes they have made this sunday when the season begins. There doing this just so the fans have the opportunity to experience what the drivers experience throughout the race, and beyond. I hope this is a positive step forward.

Don't forget bell does not offer a super sports pack like rogers. In short they make more off selling the sports pack then selling single packages.

Nascar is a very poular sport over in the USA and gaining interest over here in Canada, but I think it needs an added touch or a spark to get more people interested in the races over 4 hours, and just maybe this new nascar pack might just do the trick from what I saw on Direct TV video of "Hot Pass".

To raise the price of the ssp cuz of this new feature might go a little overboard and get people really angry and thinking about either canceling it or switching over to BEV. When Rogers added NBA LP to its pack, the price never increased, so why raise the price just because there's a new revamped Nascar pack? I think If they were going to raise the price of the ssp, then they would have done it when they added NBA LP, but that's just my opinion.

Nascar is alot bigger in canada then most people think.I am not sure on number but in terms of viewers nascar is very close to nba and blows away nll and soccer in canada.

If they increase their price because of "better Nascar coverage" people won't be happy. I know I won't be.

you can't compare Nascar to soccer, there's no apples to apples comparison to be made.

Last year wasn't there 6 in-car drivers, plus there wasn't a race channel?

This year with this new package, there's supposingly going to be 5 in-car drivers and a race channel for each week, with more added cameras than ever before, more updated stats, etc... I only watched a few races last year on the nascar pack, but with this new revamped nascr pack maybe I'll watch more races, that is until football season starts up again in september.

DirecTv has a free preview of Hot Pass for the Daytona 500. Maybe BEV and Rogers will follow suit.

As a ssp customer i would be upset if they offered a free pre view.

Jayme,

If I may ask, why would you be upset if they offered a free pre-view of Nascar "Hot Pass"?

Rogers / Cogeco are basically offering us 4 or 5 out of the 8 leagues free that is being offered to us already. Like if you add it all up its a lot cheaper to go with this package than it is with anything else on another cable/satellite company. Heck, I wouldn't care if they offered us a free pre-view of Nascar, to me that is one of the free bonus packages we get with the ssp. The ones I believe we are most paying for is NHL CI, NFL ST, NBA LP, and MLB EI, everything else is just a bonus to us.

I wonder if Rogers/Cogeco is going to have their own version of Nascar Hot Pass from DirecTV version. I wonder if it's going to be the same as Nascar In-Car last season, just a different name, or will it be DirecTV version of it. I kinda hope it is to experience a different aspect on races, after watching the video of this new package.

Well that sounds like Canadian satellite and digital cable customers will be able to recieve this new package from Nascar (instead of the In-Car Pack) if Bell is showing a free pre-view of "Hot Pass" this sunday. I had a feeling that this new pack was only going to be made available on DirecTV. I am looking forward to what new features and the different camera angles that this has to offer us, and maybe this will get me a lot more interested in Nascar.

Had to plug in the phone line. Has anybody been able to pull the direct pass menu on BEV? Or is that specific to Direct TV receivers?
