I was going to ask this on hofo, but IT seems to have blocked a few more websites over the weekend. Sigh!

What is meant by pro features or a pro phone?

Thanks.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it's part of the slang of today's generation of geeky internet teen types. "Pro" means good, whereas "bunk" means bad. Over on HoFo they seem to be predominantly in that younger, uneducated crowd where to make sense is secondary to "sounding cool", whatever that means.

I don't understand much of the "lingo" over there... but this much I think I have deciphered.

That's amusing but in fairness to the youth of today, I throw out the word "prosumer".

Prosumer is a label that many consumer electronics companies attach to items that they want to charge vastly more for. The idea is that by having the "pro" in there it was way "cooler" and way more functional.

An obvious attempt to get through to a demographic by communicating in their own "language"... or at least making a valiant effort. Makes sense. No doubt the generation that preceded ours looked upon us with the same combination of bewilderment and disapproval that we have today. I'm just glad to have made it to this point where I can safely know that someday this crowd too will realize just how silly they were as they gaze upon those who will follow them!

The "normal" life-cycle of abnormality, I guess.
