Here in Fredericton the re-alignment looks like it's taking place on February 8th (* tomorrow) and the same goes for Moncton and Saint John so probably the entire province at once.

Keep in mind anything above 69 is digital... so it looks like this..

TCM appears at 41 and AMCCAN at 42. History Channel moves to 50 and CLT moves from 50 to 72. CPAC moves from 53 to 57. Showcase moves from 42 to 53 and the BN channel moves from 69 to 200.

A bunch of channels will be located between 70 and 99..
71 STAR
72 CLT
73 CGTV (Casino & Gaming TV)
74 RSOntario
75 RSWest (?)
76 RSP (Pacific?)
77 NFLNET
78 GOLF
79 CNBC
80 CNN Headlines - Is the CNN-H in our current line up? I don't see it.
81 SPEEDChannel
82 ACTION
83 DIVA
84 IFC
85 National Geographic
86 BBC Kids
87 BBC Canada
88 Discovery Health
89 FINE LIVING
90 G4 Tech TV
91 Biography
94 FOOD TV
97 Outdoor Life
99 ROB TV

I'm not sure it's accurate but it *appears* that the duplication of ATV/CTV on 105 may be dropped and the next channel would be 106 CFTO.

The Rogers OMNI stations that are between 90 and 99 move to the 170's.. the Superstations in the 170's now move to the 330's.

There appears to be an MPIX HD on Channel 309. TMN-HD on 309 moves to 310 and MMORE-HD appears on 311.

Showcase HD appears on a channel between the east (315) and west (317) Showcases at 316.

Action and DIVA are 318 and 319.

IFC is 325. Driven is 327 and Scream is 327. Movieola is 328.

TBS is 329 and the rest of the superstations start at 330. I don't see any entry for WGN-HD currently.

This information comes from two sources.. A phone call to Rogers and my TIVO guide updated tonight in advance of tomorrow's re-alignment. So it may not be 100% accurate, but it should be about 95% accurate.

Enjoy,

JOHN

jUST A question I thought we were supposed to be getting The Score as part of the basic package yet it isn't in the lower/analogue channels...any confirmation of this?

In New Brunswick (at least in Fredericton) Score is already on channel 34 and it stays there.

Currently we do not have CNN Headline News in New Brunswick. Between 1995 and 1997 we did on Fundy Cable Saint John and Fredericton channel 37 (Jan 1995) and 38 (Feb 1995 - Sep 1997). The Channel was pulled by Fundy Cable (since sold first to Shaw (1999) and then to Rogers (2000)) It was removed in September of 1997 to make room for History Television which launced at that time on ch.38 with Comedy (39) and Teletoon (40). History was moved 8 months later to ch.41 in April 1998 when Fundy Cable added Space to channel 38. This realignment might include the re-addition of CNN Headline News to digital channel 80, but I wouldn't bet on it.

As it pertains to CTV Atlantic (ATV), my understanding is that it will be moved to ch.114. This will of course displace each of the Global feeds above it by one channel number such that we have CIHF on ch.115, CIII on ch.116, CIII-DT on ch.117, CKND on ch.118, CICT on ch.119 and CHAN on ch.120.

The Score is available in most of southern New Brunswick on analog ch.34. To date, Moncton has only ever had it available digitally.

Just to let you know we don't have the score for free in moncton...it is digital only and we need to hAVE THE sports pack to get it...that's why I was wondering..I heard it would be added to analogue in moncton.

And yes they are adding headline news to the new line up...this was shown on the original channel realignment...but we won't be 100% sure until tomorrow.

So the next question is .. I'm a Digital VIP customer. So do I need to change and requst to be an Ultimate VIP customer?

No...customers will be automatically switched over for the March 1, 2007 billing. I am not sure about access to the new channels in the package but I would assume that would be automatic as well.

Does Tivo work in atlantic canada? Cause I am paying out my ass for the rogers pvr and would much rather buy a tivo.

Yes - with a but...

The TIVO PVR will not record in HD. Only in standard definition.

It CAN control a Rogers/Motorola cable box with no problem. In fact, I use it to control my Rogers HD/PVR unit (I'm on the Ditch The Dish Promo) .. I don't use the PVR to record HD for the most part.

TIVO *does* offer a 'dual tuner' box.. but it can be set up like this:

- Dual Tuner - analog only

OR

- Dual Tuner - One side analog only.. the other side controlling an external digital cable box.

It cannot control two external digital cable boxes.

The service costs and information are available at TIVO.COM - you have to buy a TIVO box in the US and bring it in. Last year I bought one when I went to Florida for vacation... brought it back duty free.

There are rebates for the different boxes which add up to as much as 180$. The TIVo website will not ship to Canada. And the rebates (I THINK) need to be sent to a U.S. address. So you'd need to have it sent to a friend in the states probably.

TIVO recently changed their monthly fees structure. It was 12.95 a box. Now the rate depends on how long you agree to sign up for. One year is 19.95.. Two years in 16.95 and three years is 12.95. I think that's dumb.. but fortunately I signed up when it was $12.95.

Even at 19.95 .. the basic PVR functions are MUCH better than the Rogers unit. It doesn't 'lose' recordings and it alerts you BEFORE it gets full.. not when it gets full and stops recording your shows.

When shows change times and whatever.. It catches that. Etc.

I got the TIVO DVD burning unit.. So I can burn DVD's of the shows I record. It does not allow me to edit out the commercials.

Realignment is completed here in moncton...quick too...didn't even notice anything...though I was watching a movie on rod when it happened..lol

Yes, the realignment was done just after midnight here in Fredericton...

...and drewber, you were right. After almost 10 years CNN Headline News has returned to cable in New Brunswick on ch.80

I also see according to your list in the other thread that Moncton did indeed recieve The Score on ch.98. Not suprisingly ch.98 did not appear here in Fredericton as we've had it all along on ch.34. I personally would like to have seen a few french channels turned on for us in Fredericton. I'll just keep dreaming I guess.

I've also noticed ch.957 although not authorized seems to be a Mountain time feed of CBC. I wonder where they'll move it?

Just to note that New CBC is CBC Yellowknife. And It should be going into either 126 or 129. :-)

Done in Saint John too. Sometime between 1 am and 1:30 am. Speed channel is still not up and running but everything else seems ok.
