well guys I am going to watch the game on my bev 9200, and flip between Global HD, CBSWHD and CBSEHD, and see if there is a difference.

If Global screws this up I am cancelling my sub with Bell and going Grey market.

Hope everyone follows, cause this is the biggest BS I have ever seen.

I watched the game a a dishnet HD at a buddies house, his pvr and we have since then compared my 9200 recording with his, on the same TV and the same settings.

It was not FOX.

Global hijacked after the first commercial break for the bears game.

The Colts?Patriots game was very similar in quality, american version did not have the audio cut outs during the commercials.

Go Colts GO!!!

It is totally Global. And I still can't believe Rogers told me they don't have the control over simsubs. Rogers reps called the house just now for a customer service survey (not sure if it was random or due to complaints I've sent in), and asked several questions. The only thing is, the person the account is under answered the phone and told them there were no problems... because he doesn't understand all the technicalities behind everything that's been going on. So frustrating that I didn't talk to them. It feels like all my efforts in complaining to Rogers have been wasted now.

OK, so the pre-game show has started and here's the status of the Global simsub.

1. Audio is messed up compared to CBS. Sounds like they've compressed the dynamic range.

2. Picture is softer. The CBS pregame has no CBS bug, while Global has added theirs which is presumably the problem.

Oddly enough, the Global feed is ahead, time-wise, of the CBS one.

It's nice living in Ottawa. :)

EDIT: It was very noticeable when they had a shot of Steve Tasker. He has a tie with a very fine checked pattern. On CBS, you could see every check. On Global, the checks were blended.

Yup, noticed the same here in Ottawa (rogers). The CBS west channel has the Global feed while the CBS east has the direct CBS feed. Hope it stays like this.

I've had some audio drop-outs and some slight vid issues on the CBS feed.

I'm also in Ottawa.

Watching the CBS HD feed from Buffalo via OTA at my place and running over to my neighbour's next door who is watching Global HD via Rogers Cable and can confirm the same findings as jvincent.
Needless to say, my neighbour is now watching the pre-game and the game at my place.

So far things are good. No HD or SD simsubs at the moment.

My bad, I messed up a post move from the other thread and managed to delete some posts. :(

Let's try again.

As mentioned in the "NFL Disgrace" thread:

Well here is my info:

BEV - Morin Heights, Qc

GLBHE (Ch 801)
Global feed/bug/commercials, but the feed is about 5-7 seconds ahead of the other CBS HD Feeds

CBSHE (Ch 817)
CBS feed/commercials, sound seems to be spot on.

CBSHW (Ch 822)
CBS feed/commericals, sound seems ALOT softer than the direct feed and Global feed.

Where are you seeing the CBS hits? ExpressVu? Rogers? Starchoice Both?

I think mine got erased too.

Rogers in Grand River Area.

Both CBSHD feeds being simsubbed. Audio sounds plain weird.

Email and phone call both placed.

Phone call guy was sympathetic, but said he cant do much but pass it on up.

Would not surprise me if ROgers has warned their front line support for the calls that will be coming today.

Please be sure to call up Rogers at 1-888-Rogers-1 to let them know.

The more complaints they receive, the better.

Make sure you mention that the SOUND and VIDEO are not of an EQUAL quality. Let Rogers know THEY have a responsibility to stop this.

They will give you a bunch of B.S. like I'm receiving now about, "Well, we only switch during commercials" (and this is a supervisor!). Or, "It's Global's problem and we can't do anything about it."

Tell them if it is NOT switched, then you will cancel your account and switch to Bell, which is NOT simsubbing.

If they get a BUNCH of calls about this, it WILL be switched.

Here in New Brunswick - Fredericton - on Rogers Cable as of 3:58pm

006 - CIHF Global SD - Global Feed
015 - WBZ Boston SD - Original CBS Feed
145 - WBZ Boston SD - Original CBS Feed
147 - KIRO SeattleSD - SIMSUB Global Feed
523 - KIRO SeattleHD - SIMSUB Global HD Feed
528 - WBZ Boston HD - Original CBS HD Feed

I can't hear any major audio differences... but my system isn't that great. The PQ on the Global feeds seems 'softer' than the original CBS feed on both SD and HD signals.

According to the CRTC Rules and Regulations - we should not be seeing the west coast feeds simsubbed. In fact, in Fredericton, we should have no simsubs ever.

Strange the simsubs are on the westcoast feeds. I suspect that the simsubbing might be taking place at Shaw Broadcast services, since they provide the feeds for the Seattle channels nationwide and we had this exact same problem last year when it was on WXYZ (ABC) and KOMO (ABC).

Rogers simsub the Seattle Feed because people in Toronto can subscribe to it via a timeshift package and just like last year, are simsubbing Global over Seattle.

I complained about this last year and Rogers said a week later it was a mistake, which is pure BS. This year I sent them an advance e-mail and the simsub is still taking place.

People outside the GTA get Detroit, likely without simsub.

CBSE HD on BEV has their BUG turned off too. Yay. Global has theirs on.

That muffled sound on Global is typical. All of their Simsubbed shows end up that way. I usually have to turn the volume up.

I would prefer it if there where SD simsubs... then I would be more confident that the HD feeds will remain as is come 6:35pm...

CBS HD Boston (817) is as usual experiencing video freezes but the audio has a little bit more punch then CBS HD Seattle (822) but Seattle doesnt have the video freezes so between both, 822 is a better choice.

57 :

Yes.. but that simsub over the west coast feed should only be happening in areas where the east coast feed is legally simsubbed.

Instead -- it's happening EVERYWHERE on the Rogers system. It's a mistake and it should be corrected. This is two years in a row they've made this mistake throughout the entire Rogers network.

As of 3:10pm.

Global Toronto (3) - Original Global Feed
CBS WWJ (13) - Subbed w/ Global
CBSW KIRO (147) - Subbed w/ Global
Global HD - 515 - Original Global (HD?) feed.
HDCBSW - 523 - Subbed w/ Global HD
HDCBS - 528 - Original CBS HD Feed

Odly enough, my west feed is subbed, while my east feed is not.

Rogers also has the super bowl listed on 482 & 488.

As of right now:

482 - Global HD
488 - Blank Screen

Granted, nothing is scheduled for these channels until 6pm. I will update if i am still home @ 6.

channel 817, CBSHDE great sound, great picture, I get the odd freeze but that may be on my end, excellent HD commercials.

channel 822, CBSHDW, sound is softer, no freeze, great HD commercials.

This is two years in a row they've made this mistake throughout the entire Rogers network.
I don't believe they have the capability to "split" the various regions' signals, therefore if you get Seattle, you're going to be subbed because the GTA has the capability to get Seattle via the timeshift channel subscription.

The same was true for Videotron last year when they were getting the Buffalo feed from Rogers. This year, I believe, Videotron is not getting the Buffalo feed from Rogers.
