I'm running some new lines from my satellite dish for a new receiver. The current satellite lines run into the cable tv box on the side of my house where the CATV comes from under the ground and enters my home. I'm having trouble opening up this box to add the additional lines - can anyone enlighten me on how to unlock this little box? I've taken a couple photos with my cell phone:

It's a round connector with a hole in the centre of it. Any help would be appreciated!

that looks to be cable box that a cable provider like Rogers uses. your having trouble getting into that box because your not supposed to get in there. I cannot figure why a satellite feed would enter that box. From what I know that's just a junction so they can split the cable coming from underground. I've never seen an entry into a house from inside a box like that. Rogers ran a cable from that box around my house to where I wanted the cable.

I don't want to cast apsersions here but it would seem you want to get into the box for reasons other fishing a cable in your house. If so you won't find help like that here.

If trying to get a cable into your house is your real intent my apologies. I suggest you just drill a new hole in your wall.

You can enter thru that open ground box just below the box you are looking at. (small long rectangle)
There is usually a fair bit of room beside the groudn line.

Awesome! Thanks for the info, 57! Exactly what I was looking for.

I'm not doing anything illegal - I just wanted to run another satellite line so I can hook up my new star choice 530 receiver. I have cable internet, so there is already a cable line running into the house - I won't be touching that. The star choice installer simply ran the original star choice line to this cable termination box, and used the existing 1/2" conduit that went from there into the house instead of drilling a new hole.

Ctown - I had thought about going the route you suggested. I opened it up, and it looked like there was enough room there. I was just hoping for a cleaner looking install by having the line go with the others direct to the cable box.

Thanks for your help, guys!! :D
