Hello, I am looking for advice on good Playstation games for my children (4-1/2 yr old girl and 3 yr old boy). I just bought a PS3 and haven't had a gaming system since the Atari days. I was hoping some members here will have experience with games that their own children enjoy/are capable of playing. I assume they will have to be PS2 games.
Currently my kids play Madden 07 with me, as in I hand them a dummy controller and let them think they are playing along. I occasionally congratulate them on a good play and give them a high five, my wife says I’m cruel.
Thanks,
Jason

Jason A:
That is an excellent (and humourous) post. Two games I would highly recommend are Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero. They are very family friendly while at the same time very involving and FUN.
I played Dance Dance Revolution while my lovely wife and I were babysitting our 6 year old nephew who had the game hooked up to his PS3 (the game itself is a legacy PS2) and we couldn't get enough of it, even though the kid beat us regularly.
Guitar Hero is also a lot of fun (and musical) and just as involving for everyone, although it could be a little too complex for your children, but it will teach them about music and hand-eye coordination.
Both of these games, I would say, are age neutral.

I think they'd like the Spyro series (PS1 games are good, but I heard the PS2 games went downhill). There's also Croc for PS1 - it was a cute game.

I just bought my 31/2 year old a Winnie the Pooh game. He really likes it. There is also a Finding Nemo game that would be good.

games like crash bash ones are great, especially with 4 players... they consist of many competitive mini games, simple and fun.

Thanks for all of the replies. I will be heading out this week with the list of your suggestions and seeing what I can pick up.
The kids enjoyed playing the F1 demo with me this past weekend. They press the accelerator and change the views while I steer. Neither of us are very good at their assigned task.
