: Optimal dish size for true FTA in Calgary

I want to try out true FTA but im not sure on what dish size to buy.
I know with dishes bigger is better but realistically how much benifit would I get from going from a 31",33"35" or a 48"? I plan on using an Invacom quad polar lnbf regardless of the dish I choose.
I wanted to get a sg2100 motor but with that motor I would be limited to 33" or maybe a 35" depending on weight. So if I do go larger I would need to reseach other stronger motors.

FYI im in Calgary if that makes any difference, and I would need to mount the dish up on the second story of my house to get a really good line of sight I believe.
Also anyone know any installers that do FTA motor installs? I will likely do it my self but if the install price is resonable I might not waste my time.

I would go with a 1.2 meter.

Depending on what satellites you want to receive you may not have to mount the dish on the second story, even as far north as Calgary.

Most KU dishes are offset meaning it's actually looking about 23 degrees higher than what you think. So while you may think your neighbour's house is blocking the line of sight, the dish is overshooting their house quite well.

And size? Yeah, bigger is better. I believe the SG2100 will accommodate a 1.2 metre dish. I know the Stab HH120 will.
