Has anyone else experienced this? I set a timer for a program and the PVR records it without a problem, BUT then sometimes it also records the next program as well!

So when I check "My Recordings", I find programs there that I haven't set timers for and they are always programs that come on after one's that I do have timers for.

Also, sometimes it only records 59 minutes instead of 1 hour. I changed the "Start Early" and "End Late" options both to 0 minutes. Could this have something to do with it?

Ya, the extra recordings is a known issue.

Happens to me all the time. One night it recorded several extra long programs, filled up the hard drive and corrupted it. Had to reformat. :mad:

Thanks for the responses; at least I know I'm not alone on this one. Yet another glitch with the 9200 I'm going to have to learn to live with.

I've changed my "End Late" option from zero to 2 minutes... We'll see if this makes a difference...

So here are my results:

I changed my "End Late" option from zero to 2 minutes and I haven't had any more issues with extra recordings!!! No more recordings of shows I haven't set timers for, and more importantly, no more valuable harddrive space wasted!

The only trouble with doing that is if you have a back to back timer set, and are watching on another station, for those few minutes, you won't be able to watch your live show because both tuners are busy recording. However, if it works for you, that's all that matters!

I agree it's not an ideal solution--it would be better if they fixed this problem through a firmware upgrade--but it's a useable work-around to avoid the extra, unwanted recordings. It also probably explains why, by default, the 9200 comes set with the Options "Start Early" of 2 minutes and "End Late" of 6 minutes.

On my end, I only had the "extra recording" bug for programs set up using a "Vu Pass" timer (PVR set up with Start Early 0 minute, and End Late 0 minute)
