We finally got to watch all of Cars tonight. It looks AMAZING on Blu-ray. The sound is pretty good too but the picture is so good. The movie itself isn't too bad either but I have already seen it many times.

Tossed in Ratatouille... what a terrific movie! The entire family loved it.

PQ was definately top notch as well. My only complaint: there's too many damn previews before the start of Disney movies. :(

I agree, both Ratatoullie and Cars were amazing.
I just watched Underworld Evolution tonight, and I must say Kate Beckinsale looks hotter on blu-ray. :)

Curious, anyone watch Rescue Dawn yet? Just since it's a rare MGM title, wondering if it's worth checking out?

If I could find it anywhere I would watch it. I don't plan to buy it though.

I saw it for sale here at a local music store on BR... if my local BB would carry it, I think I would rent it but not buy it.

Oh, just as info... that music store(AVE i think its called) brought in a ton of BR and HD DVD discs, basically one copy of all the older flicks and many of the newer... anyway almost all the old ones are gone... been about a month... she said they have been selling like hotcakes lately. They have equal number of both formats.

I finally was able to watch The Shining on Blu-ray tonight. I thought I had seen it before but I guess not. I was totally impressed with the PQ on this one in parts of the film but I guess it is from quite a while ago. The movie itself was quite different but I liked it. Definitely one I will watch a few times to take it all in.

Watched this last night. A very good movie with amazing PQ. The star of this movie (Carice van Houten) did a very good job.

I think I might have to buy this one now.

I was in Rideau Center this afternoon, and decided to check out EB Games. Saw some used BD movies, and pulled out Casino Royale and they were asking $40 for a used movie. Decided to check out other titles and their cheapest movie was $29.99 USED. Talked about overpriced.

Just finished watching Layer Cake. This movie is great - not really any other way to describe it. I had never seen it before and I didn't know much about it going in so it was quite the ride. The PQ and AQ are both very top notch and Daniel Craig does and excellent job in the lead role.

Over the past week we've been watching the 'Planet Earth' series on Blu on the PS3... Wow!

It's one of the few BD titles available for rent at my local Rogers, but, Wow !

It is a must see for everyone.

Last night my better half bought me a copy of the IMAX release 'Blue Planet' on BD. Also a Wow!

I have Blue Planet and Planet Earth as well. Both are top notch and amazing PQ. I don't think I've actually watched all the episodes from Planet Earth yet but I will eventually get through them all. The pictures from space in Blue Planet are just amazing.

For you Planet Earth fans (either format) check out Galapagos (either format). Another BBC production. Single disc and its cheap.

Dedicated thread exists on this.

Hairspray last night for us. We enjoy musicals (most) so we were expecting alot from this and boy did it deliver big time! PQ and AQ( DTS MA 7.1) were about as good as it gets. Lots of 60's type shimy music and a hell of alot of fun. Awesome!
Interesting.. quick question for ya. If an HD DVD disk has 7.1 audio ( i havent seen any :S) would it play on my pioneer 7.1 Surround sound? The Most i've seen on HD DVD so far has been 6.1ES Using Optical cable from the HD DVD player btw..

Watched this last night. The PQ is great, especially for an older movie like this. Soundtrack is average IMHO. Movie itself is not bad although I had seen it before. I got this for $10 at the BOGO sale.

I got The Patriot on the BOGO as well. I really like it and the PQ and AQ are top notch IMO.
