ve9's list matches more closely what I'm receiving from Rogers Fredericton. The second list from Mctnguy has a few things 'mixed up' from what I'm receiving.

Example: 918 is CHQC here in Fredericton..

The mctnguy list is from the Rogers website.

Great start, but there are still a few stations not on cable, including at least 3 from Fredericton.

Remember back in the 80s and early 90s when the local radio stations were the audio on Broadcast News, the ad channel, etc?

I remember, anyways why is it that Fred and Moncton have loads of english stations on the air and Saint John does not, are we not special enough?

Interesting - what's missing from Fredericton.. ? I don't see CKHJ on the list, but technically it's an AM station.. AM stations aren't 'must carry' stations. CFBC in Saint John is also missing.

Fox, Capital, Fred, CKTP (The Native Station), CHSR (UNB), the Centre Communautaire Station...

What's missing besides CKHJ?

Joy FM and the other gospel station...

(And if you want to be technical, KHJ does have that FM transmitter in Oromocto...)

Yes but KHJ is licensed as an AM station.. therefore it's not a 'required' must carry FM under cable regulations. The FM repeater's don't count.

I wonder about the Christian stations. Maybe they chose not to do it. It was up to each station to 'ok' the carriage.

Checking CRTC regulations.. (as best I could) the regulations prior to 2005 said "all local AM and FM stations" must be carried.

There was a decision in 2005 allowing them to move the channels to digital but I can't find it at the CRTC's website.

So I can honestly say I have no idea why the AM stations aren't carried.

Interesting....I still wonder if some stations chickened out. The Irving stations in Saint John are another big omission.

Now I don't doubt for ONE SECOND that Irving chose "not" to be included.

Rogers called around to the various radio stations in November to get clearance and it would not surprise me in the least that Irving stations would have said "no".

are people actually receiving these channels or are you just getting them from the list?

I still get the "this channel will be available shortly message".

Here in Fredericton I'm getting all of the ones listed but the 4 Saint John ones are mapped to the wrong channel numbers. Actually they're mapped to each others numbers. :p

I live in a apartment complex with 3 buildings. These digital radio stations are more off than they are on in my building. However, in my parrents building right next door the stations are working fine? Any thoughts? :o

Telfon:

Remove the power from your cable box. Wait about 3 minutes. And then power it back up. The channels should appear after that.

If not - call Rogers Customer service and have them 'hit' the box with a remote reset. That might do it too.

VE9 - sounds like your apartment building isn't wired with 750 MHz coax.. (just off the top of my head) A lot of the cheap stuff from say Radio Shack or Home Depot a few years back wouldn't cut it on longer cable runs at 750 MHz.
