As the name implies, MHD is a High Definition MTV channel. I've seen some HDTV Video files captured from this channel and they are breathtaking.
Anyone knows if this channel is available/when will be available in Canada?

Never. MuchMusic HD in a few years, maybe.

Isn't MHD the IPG character identifier for Mpix HD?

Definitely don't make a comparison between Much Music and MTV - Much Music actually plays music video, while MTV does not (or rarely does!).

Actually MTV HD is known as MHD (Music HD). It has shows from MTV, VH1 and CMT...all music and they even show videos in HD.

With CHUM being bought by CTVGlobemedia and CTV having a great relationship with MTV Nerworks MHD in Canada is possible.

I was going to say, MTV Canada plays less than one hour of music videos a day, and that's being conservative. What's the use of having that in HD?

I would love to see Much in HD, as well as all of the videos they carry in HD as well. It would add a new dimension to the music video experience.

MTV Canada has actually never showed a full video, but again with CHUM being bought out by CTVGlobemedia and CTV having a great relationship with MTV Networks, I'm willing to bet that we will be seeing some more MTV branded channels soon. eg...MuchVibe could rebrand to MTV Jams and PunchMuch could rebrand to MTV Hits and so on.

Just a FIY, the former MHD channel is now known as Palladia. They were known for upscaling SD music videos to 16x9 on their HD channel. Now even mtv and muchmusic do upscaling to old videos as well.
