I have a Motorola DCT2224 that was working properly until a couple of weeks ago. Now it only shows channel 02. The only information the guide shows is "To be announced". Is this a typical problem with these Motorola receivers? Is there a way to trigger them to reload the guide or perhaps reset the box. I have tried disconnecting everything from the box and unplugged it for 24 hours but this made no difference. I have also asked Shaw support in Calgary to reset the box however this has not worked.

Not typical of the box. It's possibly the wrong channel map on the DCT - ask a CSR or TSR to confirm the correct one is applied on the acct and then to reset the box.

You have to call Shaw Tech Support they would be the only ones who could do this for you.

Looks like we have it fixed. It turned out to be a splitter. Once it was replaced the guide started updating and I can see ALL kinds of channels! Thanks for your input!

I had this same issue when I first plugged in the motorola dct2224.
It displayed the message "Failed to receive signal" on channel 2. After I ran the channel search on my TV, channel 4 worked. However, everything was still "Not Authorised".

Mike, I presume you phoned Shaw to authorize your box?
