Man, are the rest of you folks getting sick 'n tired of the stupid release date shenanigans?

I'm VERY interested in picking up Rainbow Six:Vegas (love the two demos) but even though it's shown as a "one day sale" in Futureshop's flyer (for Nov. 22 ONLY) and discounted a bit in the Zellers flyer from this weekend... IT'S NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

I've contacted my local Zellers...they don't have it. Futureshop gave my wife one heckuva run-around yesterday when she tried to pick it up for me.

The dang developers need to smarten up...if they can't have a game out on their supposed release date, then DON'T SET A RELEASE DATE. Jiminy crickets. :mad:

I was at the Best Buy at Bramalea City Center tonight (7pm) and Rainbow Six - Vegas was nowhere to be found and nobody had any idea when it was coming. Once again, another release date that was wrong.

I was in my local EB Games looking to buy it today and they told me that it isn't out till tomorrow.I came home and looked at the FS website and sure enough the release date is the 22nd of Nov.Man I wish FS would get it's info right.The IGN site said it was to be released on the 20th,I thought we got ours the same day as they did.Man was I wrong.I'll check tomorrow.

Release date is the shipping date for games which is usually a day before it is available to be sold.

I was at Walmart tonight in Burlington and they had posted a sign on the glass door in front of the 360 games stating that their flyer showing a release date of November 24th was an error and that the game would not be available until February!!!

Guys have it in the US. I would say we should have it tomorrow or Friday.

i called at 11am and nothing at my local EB games today :(

I picked it up on my lunch hour today.

Got it last night.

Not on the shelfs yet, as they hadn't put them in those anti shoplifting cases.

Played a bit of multiplayer last night, but got a bit 'o lag unfortunately.

Also couldn't join some friend's rooms no matter how hard i tried. (argh...)

Hopefully, I still get my $59 use outta it.

I havent played any Rainbow Six games so I'm not sure how they are like. I also am away from my 360 right now so havent gotten the chance to download the demo from live.

I was reading a review about this game on Gamespot I think and they compared it a little to Gears of War due to the multiplayer and cover options etc. Looking at the screenshots and how the gameplay looks I was just wondering if this game is like "Gears of War meets Splinter Cell: DA" but from the first-person view? Any thoughts?

I have both GOW and SC: DA and think they are good games

I've been playing Vegas for a few days now,and it's awesome!Just like a movie,with a very good score and storyline.And man those guns sound cool on my HT cranked up and the shakers giving you that extra "thump".It's just hard enough to make you carefull when entering rooms etc...Won't be finishing this game in a cpl hours like GOW.Money well spent in my opinion.

Hmm I may have to pick this title up then. I have been playing a ton of GOW online but until they come out with some more maps it might be fun to divert. I have never played any of the Tom Clancy titles other than a demo from last year. How is the learning curve for this game? Are the controls all over the place like the demo I played?

From what I remember, I only played the demo briefly, the controls in the demo are just like in the game. For me, the learning curve was rather quick.

NE of U having problems with lockups or crashes?

Sometimes I get misc lockups with this game, while not in play (like switching equipment, sending messages, checking options )

I have locked up once in MP online play, and once in Terrorist Hunt on single player.

I have problems 1-2x/ evening, and play about 60-90mins a night.

Edit: I also got the dirty disc error on this game twice...... but not on any others that I recall (I have COD2, GRAW, PGR3). No visible dirt on the disc.

I also got the Disc unreadable error a cpl times on Vegas.But Not nearly as many problems as with COD3.When I started playing COD3 I shot a German soldier then when I went up to him he was at a 45 degree angle head down,thought we'd be past this kinda stuff,then many times you'd be looking at something and outta nowhere a squad od germans would just appear out of nowhere.Went into a room once and when I got in there everything went blank,just a grey screen.....reboot.A cpl times there would be a in game movie playing then lock up,this game was full of bugs.Maybe I got a bad copy.Anyone else experience these problems with this game?

Haven't had any crashes with COD3 yet...but am very disappointed about the game. (had high hopes...thinking it'd be a generation leap from COD2)

But a HUGE surprise...VEGAS, BABY!!! What a great game. I'm glad they released the demos in advance...gave me a chance to get used to the controls. The biggest hurdle I got over...was realising the commands you can pull off with the digital pad...when options are displayed in the bottom left of the screen.

Nothin' beats the snake cam under a door, prioritizing targets for your anti-terrorist tag-team, then gettin' them to C4 the door!!! Ohhh lordy... the coordinated carnage!

p.s. I've also put my "face in the game" with my Xbox Live Vision camera. I can't BELIEVE how ACCURATE it is! Totally worth the price of the camera (and the game!). Camera also works as a high-res camera on the PC for webcamming. Put the camera AND RS:Vegas on yer list to Santa! :D
