interface: i like the XMB. although i'm used to the 360 dashboard, the PS3's interface is much faster to navigate and has much more direct access to files. also, i was afraid the DL times would be slow, but they were actually comparable to XBL. the PS store reminded me of itunes. it was fine, could use some minor tweaking. and hopefully we'll get downloading-during-BR-playback eventually.
I have always wondered why some folks have a dislike for the XMB. I find it slick and simple. Everything is logically organized into what seemed to me to be a very sensible structure (settings, photo, audio, video, game, network and friends). If I need to do something, I know where I need to go. I don't need it to have crazy graphics, or faux folders etc. I like it's simplicity and elegance. And honestly, I don't mind the store at all. It is more like online shopping so the interface is instantly familiar to anyone that shops online.
I also had to laugh about someone making fun of the wallet type purchasing and somehow they were comparing it with the 360's system and how much less of a hassle the 360's was. Somehow they forgot that the points don't magically appear and that you have to add them via creditcard which is the same process for funds adding as the PS3.
Anyhow, there are games on both platforms that are going to keep me pretty darned busy this late summer and fall/winter. Bring on the snow, baby!
