Format C: 2007-02-21, 07:58 PM thanks both for your reply.
You're right, it's there on page 4. Funny that they wouldn't put it two pages over in the 'Setting up' section of the guide.
First impressions of the system are WOW!! Many of the little demos are great (grip shift and motorstorm are my faves) and Resistance both lone and on-line are just so much fun.
Gord Lacey 2007-02-23, 04:36 PM What does the "players met" icon do????
Nothing seems to happend when I click it.
I've wondered that for a long time, and then the other day something showed up! I downloaded the Racing Demo (Full Auto 2, or something like that) and played a race online against 3 other people. They showed up in my "Players Met" section, so it looks like players will appear there if the game supports it.
No one from Resistance or NHL2K7 have appeared on my list.

Gord Lacey 2007-02-23, 04:41 PM Has anyone else tried out "flOw"? Wow, wow, wow - the graphics and motion are awesome, the audio is great, and for once there's a game that makes me want to use the motion sensing abilities of the controller. The ONLY way you can control the creature is using the tilt feature, and it works amazingly well. Hopefully they'll come out with a demo so people can check out the game (which is so much better than the Flash version).

macemuscle 2007-02-26, 09:47 AM Yeah flOw is great... but I was surprised how quickly I completed the game... it does have the addictive, relaxing quality advertised, but I'm surprised it doesn't have more "depth", no pun intended
Cyclism 2007-02-26, 11:20 AM flOw is awesome! Both relaxing AND involving.
Anyone else notice that as we're going from winter to spring that the background of the PS3 screen during the day is turning from yellow to green? Cool.
Cyclism 2007-02-26, 03:57 PM Picked up Virtua Fighter 5 on Friday. Great graphics. It's a fun game, although you have to set it up to play at the most difficult level or else the game is pretty much a cake walk when playing only against the A.I. The onscreen motion is fluid and fast and I like the "Quest" mode and being able to cutomize your fighter. Sadly there is no online play.
PokerChip 2007-02-27, 12:24 AM I, too, really like flOw. My 8yr old and 6 yr old enjoy it as well.
I am waiting for Tekken 5 as my martial arts / arcade fighting game. Always been a fan of Tekken.
Games are starting to come out. Next week, NBA Street Homecourt and Motorstorm.
Finally!!!!!!!!
Ham.Clan 2007-02-27, 01:56 PM New to this PS3 thing, so please bear with me.
I'm forced by a lack of infrastructure in the rural subdivision in which I live, to have to resort to (ugh!) dial-up internet access.
I would like to access the Playstation Store, but there's no way in Hades I can purchase and download games, etc., via a 56K modem. The PS4 will be out by the time I finish downloading my first firmware update.
Is there any way to access the Store via a PC (eg. from someone's home that has high speed) and then put the games on the PS3 HDD via a memory card or USB?
Thanks,
Ham.Clan
Gord Lacey 2007-02-27, 06:03 PM I think that's only possible for store updates, not for games. A better idea would be to take your PS3 over to someone's house and do it there (since you're already having to go over to download something in the first place).

Finally!!!!!!!!
Formula One:CE this week!
Format C: 2007-02-28, 07:14 PM The firmware updates can be done using a PC via memory card/storage divice, the games can not. I'm with Gord on this one. If you're going to go over to someones house to do the downloading, just take the PS3 along with you. Besides, you can show off your new hardware and play a game or two together.
Daveysew 2007-03-02, 08:31 PM I just bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing F1: CS... man I can't wait.
Cyclism 2007-03-03, 01:04 AM I've just spent the better half of this eveing playing Tekken 5. I highly recommend all PS3 owners to download this game from the Playstation store. THe graphics are fantastic at 1080p, and the fighting is relatively easy to learn, yet difficult to master.
Virtua Fighter 5 may have more realistic motion, but Tekken 5 is a lot less complicated in terms of mastery, although both games do not have online play.

You're gonna love it...quite challenging but fun. Finally F1 returns to North American consoles.
pspoar 2007-03-03, 11:15 AM Has anyone tried F1 CE with the Logitech Driving Force Pro?
Still waiting for my PS3 to return from warranty repair. The unit wouldn't power on!
Planning on buying this game when my unit returns.:D
James 2007-03-03, 01:30 PM my Ps3 freezes (for about 5-10 seconds) 2-3 times during a blu-ray movie playback (watched about 12-15 movies so far and I think it has happened on every movie) - is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Cyclism 2007-03-03, 02:00 PM James:
I haven't experienced any freezing problems at all with any BD movies or games. Have you upgraded your system to the lastest software update (1.54)?
entropy05 2007-03-03, 03:55 PM James:
I have experienced this, but less often than you describe. Maybe once per couple of viewings.
James 2007-03-03, 05:50 PM Just upgraded today to 1.54, have been hoping that each upgrade would fix the freezing problem, starting to wonder if I should be calling Sony.
Gord Lacey 2007-03-03, 08:39 PM James, I think this was an issue that was caused by one of the Firmware updates (1.5?). If it's not fixed in the latest update then I'm sure it'll be fixed in 1.6, which should be out later this month. I've only watched about an hour of a BR movie and I didn't have problems with it freezing; that was under 1.54.
