: PS3 Availability - Issues, Tips [No Advertising or eBay Stuff]
PokerChip 2006-11-19, 12:15 PM I'm going into my local superstore every day morning until i get one. Only problem, is most shipments come middle of the morning. I'm sure my boss would LOVE if i left late morning everday, mabey i'll have to go at lunch, but then i think it would be to late. I dunno...

My Superstore told me their next batch would come in in March! :D
I didn't argue.
I hope they keep telling everybody the same thing because I know they will get units trickling in. I'll have to pay them a daily visit as well.

What do you think is the best time to check? I was thinking opening (9am) but the shipments probably come mid morning i assume. My superstore does not even have a phone number listed, otherwise i would call them every half hour :D

dezzpayne 2006-11-20, 02:08 PM Sonystyle.ca just had 60GB PS3's available. I noticed it just passing through. In the time it took me to get to the shipping confirmation the site crashed.
dezzpayne 2006-11-20, 02:11 PM Simple idea. Anyone sees PS3's on sale online or at a brick and morter post here as to the location, possible package deal, quantity if possible.
IE at 13:50 EST I saw the 60GB model at Sonystyle.ca. The site crashed several minutes after.
Can't be alone on my PS3 searching. Might as well band together ;)
digihd 2006-11-20, 02:15 PM You won't be able to buy more then 1 at each store.
dezzpayne 2006-11-20, 02:16 PM What I meant by quantity was if it's a brick and mortal how many do they have in stock? If you were there an hour ago, bought 1 and they had 1 left there's really not much point posting it
dezzpayne 2006-11-20, 02:20 PM Sonystyle.ca just came back up and to my shock and amazement the "Add To Cart" had turned into a "Out Of Stock" :(
There is a "Next In Line" for the 20GB/ Not sure what that's about
PokerChip 2006-11-20, 02:20 PM I can get a 20 GB in my basket for Next in line purchase.
I'm not interested, however. I want the 60 GB.
If anyone is interested...
PokerChip 2006-11-20, 02:36 PM Next in line means the transaction is processed but you don't get charged until the item is in stock.
I had a 20 GB in my basket a few minutes ago, but first it's a 20. Second, I don't know how many they sell in this fashion. There's not much point buying it that way when you don't know how many they need to replenish stock and honour the "next-in-lines".
Good idea to have a dedicated thread.
If posting info on a bricks and mortar store, make sure your city is visible somewhere in your sig, you profile or your message.
unclejemima 2006-11-21, 01:20 PM Anyone hear about this apparent "next shipment"?
I heard from my Superstore that they have no idea (checked yesterday), but apparently Futureshop is supposed to get some this Saturday according the the superstore guy, why he knows i dont know.

Razzy 2006-11-21, 03:17 PM According to Gamespot, some stores have already gotten their 2nd. I called Futureshop and they told me they won't be getting any until after X-mas.

unclejemima 2006-11-22, 11:05 AM checked my local futureshop, zellers and superstore last night. Still no second shipment for the cold alberta north.
I'll be there again this morning to see if they get any in.
Everyone keeps telling me,"duuuu, we wont get any till after christmas" I want to keep saying, thats not what sony says buddy.

PokerChip 2006-11-22, 12:01 PM Don't tell them.
I do my rounds twice a day right now, mainly at Wal-Mart and Superstore.
I now know what time my Wal-Mart store gets its shipment and how that determines whether merchandise is stocked the same day or overnight. There are certin things I'm not prepared to disclose ;)
I know they wll get more and I'm guessing the next 48 hours will be pivotal here. It's going to be tough...
By the way, sonystyle.ca now says "In store only" for PS3 instead of "Out of stock". I suppose this means they're off my online retailers list.
microplay's website says they are getting more ps3's on Nov23/24 and to contact the store.
unclejemima 2006-11-22, 03:57 PM Good info, thanks guys.
I was at superstore at lunch, no ps3's but they had 5 Wii's on the shelf. I could care less about the Wii, but i will be back tommorow to check for the PS3!

PokerChip 2006-11-22, 06:36 PM I read on another board that Microplay is expecting shipments. Checked out their website, turns out it looks accurate:

According to my local MicroPlay (employee), they've not been told that they're getting anymore PS3's. He aknowledged the website's message, but said he didn't know anything.

Ottawa micoplays pleaded ignorance as well.
faldze 2006-11-23, 10:39 AM The Newmarket, ON Microplay says that they are getting a couple of 20GB systems coming in, but no 60GB systems. Best Buy tells me that they are getting no systems in till after New Year's.... find that hard to believe.
