I think this game will finally throw me into online gaming. From all the gameplay video and reviews I have read this is going to be one hot game. Anyone else dying for this?

I plan on buying it day 1. I was thinking about pre-order, but it seems any new releases are being bundled with deals, so I am taking my chances. A friend bought Splinter cell, got 12 month live thrown in (then sold the game) - worked out to $15 for a year of live. I think he took advantage of the FS buy a game, get COD2 for $10 and sold those as well.

The other game I am waiting for is tony hawk 8 for my son. The demo is great, just need to see the final version and rating. Hope they don't ruin it for him with in game foul language, or no tony under the tree.

Just hope waiting doesn't mean out of stock!

Future Shop has Gears of War with a free copy of The Outfit.

I would like to find a nice deal for both GOW and COD3. I heard best buy was having a 1 day sale on the 2 games purchased together but also that it was instore only...which sucks for me.

I took advantage of EB's "Trade 3, get one free" weekend to get Gears. I REALLY want this game.

I downloaded this week's 1up show (at 1up.com), and they have a great feature on that game, as well as some Wii games. The people from 1up are quite impressed with both Gears' gameplay and graphics. By the way, this is a good show to download, and then stream to your 360 to watch on your TV. The new dashboard update is really cool for Internet shows like this, and IGN weekly (which has an exclusive look at Gears multiplayer maps).

So I think i will drive to Halifax and get this game at Futureshop since my local EB games will not sell it until Thursday. COD3 they will sell on Wednesday. Might as well pick up both at FS if they are available tomorrow.

Best Buy on the 9th here in Calgary (and probably elsewhere) has Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 for $100.

I'll be taking advantage of that deal.

It most definately is available in Ottawa. It was in this week's flyer.

It is getting some nice reviews so far. 9.6 from 2 review sites. I hope I can pick up this game today.

I was skepitcal, but as was already said, it's getting brilliant reviews...

Stores in Edmonton are now expecting it to arrive tommorrow, - FS, BB, Walmart, Toyrus. COD3 is in stores, Tony Hawk 8 as well, but no Gears.

Yeah the strange thing about video game release dates is they don't mean squat. 90% of the time it means that the hyped day of release is actually only the SHIPPING part of the release. Almost every store doesnt actually get any copies until the next day. It's annoyingly misleading I find. Meanwhile console launches are proper day.

IMO launch dates shouldn't include shipping. Since when do we need to care when their being sent out from your warehouse, we want to know when we can get our hands on it >.<
