I know, that's the worst feeling. And then when your trying to tell them what codes to enter for the service

After trying 6 times last night, I finally got through to someone who knew what the score was and she was more than happy to add the digital code to my account.. though I don't think she did it right as neither of my boxes are reading all digital.. still just the old a/d signal... guess I will have to call again.. :(

she was pretty help full for the most part and tried to sell me one of the small boxes (the new ones)...

I will have 3-4 TVs, but I only really need/want all digital on the 50" plamsa.

Then you would only need a digital receiver for the 50" plasma. The rest will receive the analog channels.

Just spent 45 mins. on the phone with a tech rep. here in Vancouver. He said he was aware of the code, but it has not been released to him. Even stated that if I could find the code for him, he would gladly add it to my three boxes.

It would be helpful if someone here knows the code and would ahare it.

Thanks DHC, you are invaluable.

If anyone form Winnipeg can vouch for me on this please do. About 5 days ago my DCT 6412 reset for no apparent reason but I don't know if my DCT 2500 reset or not but when I woke up the next morning my analog channels looked allot better. I don't have the Dolby digital logo at the bottom right corner so their obviously analog even confirmed it in the diagnostics menu so point being I'm wondering if this digital switch has had some kind of effect even in other areas or maybe this all digital code is available here but they don't want to release to anyone here for some reason. My reason for this comes, as there has been no Shaw truck in my area around my house for at least two weeks.

I called Shaw the other day to order hook up of basic cable (Promo code 14) at $10/mth for 6 months... anyways, while I was on the phone, I asked about the all digital channels and if my parents' DCT2500 could get flashed to receive 3-59 in digital... he knew what I was talking about without me having to spell it out (thank God), but he did say that they're just in a test phase and won't be rolling out system wide flash updates of existing digital boxes until February.

Don't blame me for their backwards logic (serving first those who fork out the least for a DCT), I'm just the messenger.

I got hooked up to all digital looks much nicer on my TV no analog jitter or snow on my tv. Some of the channels are still from an analog source but still much better. A guy from the HD tech support team hooked me up. He had to reset the box three times before it worked though.

Update, I called again and got a very helpful HD Tech Rep. He tried to push the new code three times but all we could get was channels 9,39 and everything above 60. (Vancouver Market) He is going to call me tomorrow and we are going to try again.

I will keep you posted.

I'm right now dealing with this over Email with a Shaw Technican. He emailed me telling me it's not possible unless I have one of the new "all digital boxes" and that I must be mistaken so I have provided a link to this topic and specific posts outlining that this can be done; waiting for a response.

I'll keep you posted and if I learn anything else I'll posted it;)

(And if all else fails look for my DCT2500 for sale on eBay if they can't figure out what to do and I switch from Shaw Digital to Telus TV....lol jk  )

From he who started this thread,no digital yet,but I have read were some of you have called Shaw and had the "techs",and I say Techs if you can call them that, force the digital codes into your 64xx units, some with success and others with issues.I am going to wait til the new year before I start forcing the issue to ensure Shaw has cured most if not all the bugs.

well.. I have the Motorola 6412 HDPVR box(probably phase 1)

just got off the phone with a friendly CSR. We talked about the new packages
for TV and was wondering about a TV+Internet bundle(I have the total entertainment bundle) was interested in the fully loaded package.
It says it "includes High-Definition TV package" and to me that means HD basic and HD Plus but he says it doesnt. They dont see to have a new TV+Internet bundle (yet?)

but i guess i am off topic abit here :) .. at the end of all this i said that i hear Shaw is all digital now in 3 citys and how do i get on to that. He said that that is for people who have that new $98 digital box. Said that sux for me having spent almost 800bux on the 6412 and that the HDPVR box is included in the hardware section for digital TV on the website. . I mentioned i know of several people that have been switched over. Told him about digital home and read off a part of a message about having to add ALL DIGITAL FCS to my acct.

As soon as i mentioned the above he said it would be no problem to set me up and it would take about 10 seconds. He said he knew about the all digital fcs code. (not home now so i cant see how it is working)
but i checked online customer care - add services and the above code
"all digital fcs" is now there. I assume all will be well when i get home :)

so good luck out there folks. may all your TV's be digital TV's :)

Well, just spent a while on the phone with a CSR trying to get converted to all digital. First response was that it was not available for my machine (6412 PII) with the reason being that my pvr is not capable of receiving an all digital signal. I was told that this was being worked on and would be available in the near future.

Obviously I told her that others were being put on all digital - gave her this site and the code cited in the posts above. Was told that htis was the code for other machines and that would not work for the pvr.

Eventually the CSR went to speak to a supervisor. Came back after 5 min or so with the same story - this will not work with the pvrs at this time and Shaw is unsure of why people would be posting that they are all on digital.

Through the whole conversation the CSR was very nice and attempting to be helpful, buy obviously had the wrong information.

Or, of course, all of you out there are lying!! ;)

I just picked an exchanged, refurbished, 6412. While trying to activate it I asked about the all digital line up. I was told that my area has the wiring for all digital and my STB is all digital therefore all of my line up is digital. The woman on the other end was condescending when I asked again about it. I just let it drop. I do not have all digital.

heh. quoting myself but..
so i got home all excited to see digital on lower channels...but :(
it does not appear that i am all digital. I still have Ch2 tv listings. The lower channels do not have the dolby D .. I did the box off \ok-select menu and it says both tuners are still analog.
so either i am missing something or have to do something else. or the shaw dood lied to me(he did add the all digital line to my acct so maybe not)
what ever reason it did not seem to "take"

oh well. dont really watch the lower channels all that much anyway tho it would be nice to have history and space as digital.

I just found this PDF file on my computer. The "date modified" for the file is 5 November 2004, so it must have originated some two years ago! It is titled "Shaw readies to join all-digital pack".

This all digital has been a long time coming. People have a right to be anxious!

Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you yet. You may be disappointed that "Space" won't pause, fast forward, reverse or skip, though. It doesn't on my 3080 or 6412. Same with Much, More, Bravo and Star.

Guess that's one of the wrinkles to be ironed out.
