Yes, that is bad news. There are also reports coming in from other places in Canada that original-style Channel Master 4221s and 4228s are running out of stock.

BobyYoo, buy what is on the Antenna Chart and don't bother with anything else:

We are looking for a place in Montreal or on-line that sells the Zenith Silver Sensor or clone. Anyone selling theirs or have any suggestions?

The Source by circuit city used to sell the Terk one that wasn't amplified, but now they only carry a REALLY OVER PRICED amplified one at $80 (!!!!!!!!!!!!)...don't buy that that's a rip off price.

It's really tough to find them in Montreal, I found mine at a dollar shop for $20 but they never restocked it.

I hope you aren't planning on getting many U.S. channels with that unless you live on a 2nd floor or higher with no obstructions SOUTH. Or maybe live in Brossard or further south.

Hi guys , I'm so glad I have found this forum ! I've been trying to get infos by reading what's already here but there's so many threads and details , that I got totally lost ! And bear with me , I'm french LOL .

I have to say , I'm totally out of date with all that is tv and all. Since moving from Montreal to the "boonies" (Sherrington , Quebec , near US border) 5 years ago. A year ago , I cancelled my Bell expressvu because it was too expensive for the amount of time I watch TV. I bought "rabbit ears" and it worked fine. Was able to get the canadian stations , and some US ones : NBC , CBS , FOX , PBS .... of course , I lost those US station not long ago.

I've tried to get a converter box but every store has been telling me at first , they would get them by the end of February , now it's by the end of March !! And , they will sell them for about $100.00. So I thought why pay this much , when I could order one online from US for much cheaper ..... but there's so many and I'm afraid to get one that won't work .... I don't need anything fancy , I just want my channels back ! So what's the easiest way to get a converter box ? And , is this all that I need to buy ?

Thanks !

If all you want is a converter box, this is the only one i know of in canada. I'm sure others can find more.

Thanks Dalis , but as soon as I checked out Tom.F.1's link , I ordered the box.

I just got it today , hooked it up (pretty easy) so now I get clear US channels , all but FOX and I'm not getting any of the canadian ones  anyone knows why ? My antenna is a cheap one , rabbit ears .....

I found a supplier of Regal Splitters in Montreal.

Marche aux puces 5 etoiles in St-leonard.

Door 5, near the wall, it is a guy that looks like Alice Cooper. He has a ton of stuff like cables.

Brand new and cheaper then FleaBay.

Man this guy really looks like Alice Cooper...really nice guy. Has a crap load of coax cables...and I mean CRAP LOAD. Some crappy indoor antennas, but of interest was the Regal coax splitters (they look darn real to me) for $10. I also picked up the Regal cable modem splitter because I needed one for work for a public wifi access point that keeps cutting out because of the "normal splitter" we got on there. Will report back later on on that.

Marche aux puces 5 etoiles in St-leonard. Near Door 5...He's at a tiny booth 303, easy to miss, kept walking by him! look for the piles of coax cables piled 6 feet high. Big flea market if you are looking for fake sun glasses, rugs etc.... :) Never been to this one before in Montreal.

I bought a 3 -way regal from Alice Cooper, but guess what, it was horrible, nearly destroyed the signals on 2 of the 3 cable Tv feeds, now I am going back to my original 3-way no name splitter...

and not even close to the antronix splitter I've tried
