Hi Vicky71 and deepflowdude!
Thanks for the tips, I'll stop by one of those stores. deepflowdude, what's the store name address of the store in St. Laurent? Thanks everyone, will pick one up and compare it to my Zenith silver sensor soon!

I live in Dollard, so I see the FTA Supply store every time I pass on the 40 going downtown. Didn't know they sell OTA. It's on the South service road, between the 13 and Cavendish.

Oh wait, is that the NAME of the store? FTA Supply? LOL....I thought he was saying he found an FTA supply STORE. That's the name of the store? *smacks head*

Yup, the name of the store is "FTA Supply" ...unfortunately the sign on the building says "FTA" and it is located exactly where Vicky71 said .....
There is another store about a block away on Cote-Vertu corner of Begin that sells OTA products too, I thinks it's called Vitesse Electronique, I think they have Channel Master Amps there, But I am not sure ....
When I get the name of the store on Sherbrooke West near Decarie I will post it.
At that store on Sherbrooke West, they have a switchable gain Antenna amp with a FM trap for $12.99ca. It has 2 Gain settings (High 25db & Low 10db) and 2 FM Trap settings (Trap In & Out) It's comprable to the GE one sold at Addison and it saves you a trip to the east end if you don't live out there. Then again, Addison will have just about all the Electronics parts needs and great prices too. They also have an antenna simalar to the one I have for $39.95ca. it's basically the same antenna with extra space between the antenna and the mounting area........
By the Way the GE AMP from Addison is model no. AV93241, the Amp from the other store is made by Lance Industries Model is AB425....Yup I got them both. I kinda prefer the GE version because of the size and it can be mounted outside. The Lance version is strickly for indoor use......

Does anyone know if there is a store in Montreal that carries the:
TERK HDTV0 UHF/VHF outdoor antenna?
DARN !#%!#% tree started blooming and I've lost all my HDTV channels!

Hello Again Everyone,
In Regards to my Posts about the ANT-HD10 Antenna and other Items I have picked up.....
The Store On Sherbrooke Street Near Decarie is LavalSat, 5377 Sherbrooke W. 514-482-8999
They have a simalar version of the Antenna by Eaglestar Pro Model 53-6305,
and it's $39.95ca. They also have the Lance Amp with the FM trap I was talking about for $12.99ca. They mainly carry FTA stuff ....
The other Store is Vi-Tesse Electronic not Vitesse like I originally stated, they are located on 3850 Cote Vertu 514-335-1151 ......
Haven't found a spot for my next experiment with Notch filters, but I will update the forum on my experience with them...... I have calculated that I should get better signal quality if the strong VHF/UHF stations were attenuated...
One word of caution, since the analogue shutdown in the US is approching soon and they will begin Transmitting at thier designated full power, I wouldn't go too crazy purchasing items... And when the Canadian Analogue shutdown happens reception will even get better....

The only place I've ever seen a ZSS clone was at this store in Laval.
But last time I went, they didn't have much. Except an empty ZSS clone antenna box. I looked around but never found the actual antenna. Maybe another Magi-prix might have it.

goldfingerz, oh that Zenith Silver Sensor Clone is long gone and so are any decent HDTV anteanns:) That's because I bought the Zenith antenna a few months ago and USING IT NOW to get my HDTV signals...which are now gone because the darn tree is starting to bloom and it's cut the signal down to "10%-25%".
Now I got to find some nice outdoor antenna's (that's why I was asking if anyone has seen a TERK HDTV0 VHF/UHF antenna in Montreal) :)
2008-05-09, 07:34 PM
Yuprules, keep in mind the sad truth that UHF signals do not travel well through leaves and trees. VHF and FM radio signals do, but not UHF.
I think you should look at an antenna mounted higher than the tree if possible, and there are plenty of outdoor antennas that will get better reception than that Terk antenna you are asking about.

It won't be to hard, I live in a two story house...and getting it outside will help and I am pretty sure I don't have to go too high (right now my silver sensor is inside, BEHIND A BRICK WALL and it's "barely working"...so outside should be better).
I don't want any HUGE mother of an antenna, I wanted something low profile...that's why I was looking at that TERK0, any other "smaller ones" you can recommend? Although it is hard to find these in Montreal (sigh).

There is a place that sells Terk Antennas and other OTA stuff that I forgot to mention.... MEGA PC, 8181 Decarie Boulevard, Montreal 514-341-4119 www.megapc.com they have the TERK TV55, they also have clones of the equipment I had mentioned ... The Antenna prices range fron $40-$50...
I think they can order other Terk models give them a call and find out...

Anyone ever find a store in Montreal that sells the Philips Silver Sensor (or clone...not Terk) in a store?
Got two friend's in the south shore who are looking for it, online with shipping kills the price so bad.

Can anyone recommend an installer in the Laval area? I am in Ste. Rose, Laval. Have 9200 BEV receiver. can an antenna be installed directly to the 9200 to receive OTA HD channels? Also, if anyone knows where i can buy these antennas locally.
2008-09-12, 12:14 PM
Where can I get a VHF/UHF combiner for connecting 2 antennas to the same coax?
2008-09-12, 12:45 PM
Dollarama (no joke), it's located where the ethernet/usb/video/telephone cables are. Just use it in REVERSE (two cords into one).

Anyone know a good installer to help with my setup (Laval area)?
I have some issues receiving ABC(WVNY) and would like someone to help with the installation of my 5Y13S antenna. Currently that and my CM 4228 are mounted in my attic, but I think moving them outside might be a better solution, and I'd like to have them professionally done.
I have all the equipement, and cabling is done. I'd want to replace my current rooftop ExpressVu dish install with these 2 antennas.

Sorry for the bad new ...but the onwer told me that he is out of stock and the new model will be a little higher priced :(
2008-10-31, 03:58 PM
Yes, that is bad news. There are also reports coming in from other places in Canada that original-style Channel Master 4221s and 4228s are running out of stock.
