I found a place that sells «Antenna Direct/Terrestrial Digital» antennas locally in Longueuil.

From what I gathered calling the store, they dont seems to always have them in stock and it takes about a week to get them (ie, call before going there to make sure they have what you need in stock). You can also pick up your purchase at the store instead of having it shipped to save some $$$ (no pickup fee). Infos (do a search «antenna»):

Until December 31st, all of the antennas are currently reduced with a killer deal on the 91XG for only 60.65$CDN! I have never seen it this low anywhere in the US or CAN.

My biggest criticism of Antennas Direct/Terrestrial Digital DB-8 and 91XG antennas has been their high cost and lesser build solidity than the CM4228 and the Winegard PR9032 respectively, not their relative performance. I'm glad to finally see some reasonable prices on that brand, which I hope will continue after December! :)

Can't wait for spring to mount an out door antenna!

BTW, anyone know of any good companies to help me mount, drill a hole for the coax cable and properly ground my antenna come spring (In Montreal of course).

That's exactly what the guy recomended by raybel did; came over and tried a few things with a signal meter to see what works best for me. Not too $$$ either; 50$/H

Does this install guty have a name.

I am picking up a 4228 in about a week. My house is already prewired with RG6 with cables hanging on my roof.

Anybody in Mtl does signal testing and install?

I as well, used the guy recommended by Ray Bel. He came over to evaluate the site. He didn't even charge me for that. I'm now waiting for him to get back to me so that we can proceed with the install.

Very nice guy. He showed up with his test antenna & signal meter.

They seem to have "generic indoor antennas". I don't see any directional hdtv antenna's like the Samsung or the Zenith Silver Sensor.

What's this GE 10db amplifier that everybody is talking about? Where do i get one? (at 10$ seems like it's worth a shot)

Was at Montcalm Electronic, 97 Boulv. des Laurentides in Laval, 450-663-3102, this week. They carry all types of OTA items including pre amps, antennas ,etc. and the tech there knows our area of reception.

Anybody found a place where you can buy a CM7777 in the Montreal area? And what about Amplifier by Research Comm., anybody know where those amps could be bought either in Montreal or Canada?

Raybel and Montcalm usually have it. You can call before going there just in case they are temporarily out of stock.

The ANT-HD10 antenna that I am usuing is 29" H x 19" W x 4" Deep and it's weight is about 4 pounds...Whoa that is cool, I've been looking for something like that from Montreal, where did you buy it from (retail links not allowed, so just say the store name)? $40 only? I've been unable to receive Fox (WFFF) so a $40 risk is always worth it :)

Yuprules, I've seen at least two places around Montreal that carry those antennas (mind you, only on their web sites, haven't been in store yet). One place is on Ile Perrot, called Motrack, they go by their web name ImportBestBuys. Another one, is MegaPC, on Décarie next to De La Savanne metro. Both places the antennas cost $40, under different names but they look exactly the same (unless there's one generic picture, which I doubt).

I picked up the antenna at FTA Supply in St. Laurent.... It's a little difficult to get to since it is on the south side of the service road. However, there is another place on Sherbrooke West near the Decarie expressway entrance. (don't go on the expressway it will be a detour) . I have been there and I know they have a simalar model at the same price... I plan to pick up one
from the sherbrooke and decarie store for a family member.... And as Vicky says they are other places too
